First Step
Chapter 5

Being in love was strange. Everytime Aiba looked at Sho during class he felt something twitching in his body - he didn’t want to admit it, but that feeling was probably caused by the millions of butterflies in his stomach. The warmth spread around his heart when Sho solved another calculation faultlessly, when he had to read out loud in class or when he was just sitting in his chair while listening to the teacher attentively. Often Sho caught Aiba staring at him during class and scolded him silently for not paying any attention to the lessons. But secretly Sho did exactly the same - everytime Aiba quietly yawned, looked concentrated in his book or dozed off in sleep, the older boy had to grin and his cheeks flushed. But being constantly focused on the other one meant distraction and if one of them needed to listen to the teacher carefully, it had to be Aiba who failed at their last test miserably and was doomed to go to summer school.

“I hate that. How am I supposed to understand stuff like that?” Desperately Aiba sat with Sho in a hidden corner in the restaurant of the taller boy’s parents and studied for an upcoming math test.

“I’ll explain it one more time, okay? Come on, don’t give up, Ma-kun.” Patiently Sho opened the math book again that Aiba closed a few minutes ago in anger.

“Sho-chaaaan…” Slowly Aiba moved closer to Sho and buried his face in his boyfriend’s neck, kissing it. “Let’s take a break…” When Sho pushed Aiba gently away and looked at him sternly, the younger boy just pursed his lips in annoyance.

“From now on no kisses, no touches, no Ma-kun. Got it, Aiba-san?”

Aiba just nodded dissatisfied and looked back in his book. Of course he wanted to protest and say something, but he knew that he’d never win against Sho. Two, three, four hours passed and Aiba really thought that his brain gained about at least ten more kilos, but despite having a bad headache he was happy that he finally got most of the calculations right which was a big improvement.

“Thank you for helping our Masaki. He always struggled with math” Aiba’s mother put a huge amount of delicious looking food on the table that both boys were sitting at. She was apologizing for cooking Chinese food, but Sho just shook his head and inhaled the scent of Mabo tofu and Gyoza. The couple digged in and were watched by Aiba’s parents who giggled quietly. They were happy that their Masaki finally found a really good friend - that their connection went deeper than just friendship was still their little secret.

“It was sooo good! Thank you very much!” Sho brought the empty plates in the kitchen and smiled brightly at Aiba’s mother who was preparing some dishes for the next day. She returned the smile and laughed lightly at her son’s tutor.

“Erm… Aiba-san, can I ask you something?” Since a few days Sho had a favour to ask of Aiba’s mother, but never really caught her when she was alone. When the middle-aged woman turned her head interested in Sho’s direction, he felt how his heart suddenly beat faster in nervousness. “Can Aiba-kun maybe stay over at my house next weekend? I suggested to make a learn-night to prepare him fully for his exam.”

Well, preparing him for his test was maybe just a small excuse for saying that his parents were on a trip with Mai over the weekend and he had the house for himself, but telling her the truth was impossible. Their last night together was already two months ago when they stayed in Okinawa and Sho really wanted to spend another one with his boyfriend.

“Of course, sounds good! I am so grateful that you’re helping him. I will prepare some food for you!” Sho could see Aiba in her smile - it was exactly the same. He bowed relieved and couldn’t wait to tell the taller boy about their upcoming weekend together.

Aiba’s bag dropped from itself when he entered Sho’s room and saw the opened school books lying on the table that was placed in the middle of the room. Actually he thought that they would just lie lazily together on the couch for the whole day, watching movies and cuddling which was originally Sho’s plan, but after the older boy saw the concern in the faces of Aiba’s parents when he caught them worrying about their son’s bad grades, he changed his plan a bit.

Aiba’s mood went instantly bad, but he decided to say nothing and obey Sho’s plans - he simply didn’t feel like talking anymore. The last days Aiba thought about their relationship and bringing it to the next level - he had absolutely no clue how to start getting closer to his boyfriend or how to seduce him, since he has never done anything like that before. The whole week he was getting excited; he felt the arousal in his body when he thought about spending the night with Sho, but everything - his whole imagination - was destroyed in one go. Sho noticed how calm Aiba was and almost decided to stop the learning, but he knew that he had to be strict this time.

“Done” Aiba said sober and put his pen on the book after he finished the math exercises.

“Awesome! It’s correct!”

“Hmpf” the taller boy just snorted and looked out of the window in dissatisfaction. “And what’s next? History? Japanese? English?” His tone full of sarcasm.

“I actually thought about relaxing and making you food, but I have a book about the Edo era if-“

“Oh god, please no” Aiba interrupted immediately “Please no more learning, Sho-chan” he showed his boyfriend his infamous puppy eyes that melted Sho’s heart. Gently the older boy took Aiba’s palm in his and they headed to the kitchen in order to reward his Ma-kun with delicious food (made by Aiba’s mother though, because Sho couldn’t even make scrambled eggs without burning down the kitchen or getting food poisoning). So he heated up the homemade food and brought it to Aiba who placed himself already on the couch, watching one of his favourite shows “Tensai Shimura Doubutsuen”. The taller boy didn’t even notice Sho who held their plates in front of Aiba’s face; he was totally concentrated on the animal show.

“You really like animals, ne?” Sho grinned and placed himself next to his boyfriend who nodded absently. Both of them stayed silent until the show was over and the food gone. All the learning and eating made Aiba tired, but he didn’t just want to fall asleep - not when he was able to spend his time with Sho now. But his boyfriend noticed immediately how exhausted Aiba was and pulled him closer while gently stroking his hair and whispering “Sleep a bit, Ma-kun.” It didn’t take long until Sho felt a soft purring against his chest, Aiba’s mouth slightly open. Your sleeping face is just too cute, Sho thought and pressed a small kiss on his lover’s forehead.

***

Half asleep Aiba rolled from one side to another, his body pressed against something big and fluffy.

“You’re so fluffy, Sho-nyan.” He mumbled and grinned while he snuggled even closer to the soft figure. The next thing he heard was laughter which made him open his eyes a bit more. The supposed fluffy “Sho-nyan” in his arms was a big pillow and the softness under him his boyfriend’s bed. Slowly he sat up and crawled to the edge of the bed before he detected Sho standing near the door, chuckling at his younger boyfriend.

“I didn’t know that I’m a cat, Ma-nyan” He rested his body against the door frame and watched Aiba flush at his comment which made him laugh even more. But the main reason for turning red was the soft bed… the place that Sho slept in every day. The scent of Sho was everywhere and Aiba couldn’t get enough of it. His desire to be as close as possible to his boyfriend was bigger than ever.

“Are you… r-ready? I mean… f-for it…” The words just came out of his mouth without really thinking about it. At first Sho was surprised at the sudden question and he felt how his knees began to buckle, but when he looked at Aiba who gazed shyly and totally embarrassed at him, he returned a loving smirk.

“Only if you are.” The love in his voice and face made Aiba nod immediately and he turned his back to Sho - too ashamed to look at him now - waiting for the older boy to make the first step.
