I have all my first essay results back, and am pleased for the most part.
Art History was the first one I got back, and I was, I think, shocked to find I'd got 82%, A. I thought I'd be marked down because I spent too long discussing Annibale Carracci's Pietà, and not comparing it enough to Dead Christ Mourned. I'm really pleased with this one, though. And have I mentioned I love my tutor?
English was the second one I got back, and I was amazed that I'd managed to get a 78%, B. I'd thought this one was terrible, because I didn't answer the question properly, and practically wrote it the morning it was due.
Sociology I got back on Tuesday and was (again) shocked I'd got an A.
History was the one I was least happy with, and with good reason. I got a C+, my worst grade this year; I don't think I expected it to be that low. At least it's a pass, and only worth 8% or 12%, depending on how well I go on my next essay and the exam.
I stayed at home yesterday, skipping two tutes (Art History, Dada art; History, the Munich crisis) and a lecture (new methods of Art History). If I hadn't got my essay back on Wednesday I would've gone to my History tute, but instead I slept 'til something like 12, and read for the rest of the day. And for some reason it feels like it wasn't yesterday, but a few days ago. How odd.
I get to see Pete Murray perform tonight.
