Many people have told me that life is about setting yourself challenges, setting goals that will take you outside your otherwise boring life and make you just that little bit uncomfortable, for a larger reward and a warm and fuzzy sense of accomplishment ( Read more... )

i know how you feel. i dont think you should give up, if thats something you really want. just keep trying and trying until you get the body that you're comfortable with, you dont have to accept anything if you dont want to! you know the formula for achieving the weight that you want, so dont give up. it's not about how your friends feel about your body, its about how you feel and how you would like to see yourself.
hell, i've been trying for years and im still not giving up.. i dont let any bumps in the road stop me from wanting a better body and neither should you. i dont think you should expect your friends to be honest about your weight, i have never had anyone (except a boyfriend, after lots of threats that if he is not honest i'll be mad :P) tell me i should lose weight. it's such a taboo topic and people wont be critical of you as you are critical of yourself.
so yeah, dont give up. keep trying, even if it takes a long time. oh and losing weight is really f'ing hard so a few failures are expected along the way! (and its always handy to have larger clothes just in case :P)

actually i dont think thats really the case, if you were on a strict diet and exercise for 9 weeks, you can lose quite a bit of weight (9-10kg?). it probably takes the same time to put on/take off weight but it just seems longer cause IT SUCKS and its really hard to diet :))
yay for fat clothes! im so obsessed with weight loss at the moment :P

If it helps any, your body has something called a "set point". This is the weight your body thinks you should be. It will defend this set point but increasing or decreasing your weight to match it. Your set point is easy to increase in that if you put on weight it will increase your set point pretty fast. Losing weight will not automatically reduce it. You need to maintain a low weight for a long time before it is easy to stay at that weight.

So..if it is what you want, it will take effort but you are a lovely and determined girl. You are brave and special and wonderful and I hope that whatever you do is right for you.
