My sister just LOVES Georgian so in the big occasion of turning 40 she is having a picnic in Georgian costume.
Now 1st this is going to take place in November, which makes the Redingote quite unsuitable (to all my o'seas readers - it will be nearly summer here with temps into the 30 degrees centigrade) SO to make things rather easy for me I have decided to wear the under skirt but make myself a little jacket
like this as I already have some perfect fabric in my stash ...

AND I am going to hand-sew the sucker. It will be my "on the bus" project as I will have other sewing to do on my machine like a commission for a tent.
I have already mocked up using the Kohler pattern from the costumers manifesto website.
