san diego might be the best city in the us if not the world.
it depends on what you are looking for, but san diego and southern california in general has everything. whatever you want they have it nearby. i love SD. i'm from the OC originally, but SD is great. you couldnt do much better than to live here. greg

you should help me find a cool place to live if i move there- i applied to ucsd and sdsu for graduate school, and i know not a soul there...sort of nervous- i also applied to irvine in OC.
and i'm super jealous you got to see tears for fears in concert- such a great group.
Re: san diegolagwagonmonkeyJanuary 27 2004, 15:10:31 UTC
yes...it was a great show.
i would be glad to help you in any way you need if you come out here.
and dont worry...there are a small core of people here who are on LJ who will make you feel at home and give you friends right away if you ever move here.
i dont know you at all, but that's just how i am along with the other people i speak of.
Re: san diegodawningitJanuary 27 2004, 15:17:43 UTC
that's really awesome, and i appreciate it a lot, Merinda says great things about you, so i trust her judgement hehe.
It's just a bit intimidating because the farthest i moved away from home was from cleveland to dayton- and i'm getting ready to graduate from here in June. It wasn't as scary to move here because I knew I could go back home, I was younger and a lot more naive...but now 5 years later i've learned a bit more about life- makes it a little bit more intimidating.
Re: san diegodawningitJanuary 27 2004, 15:28:44 UTC
i spent two weeks out there three summers ago, and absolutely fell in love- i'm pretty confident that if i don't get into any school and i can swing it i'm still going to move out there for at least a year...just to try something new.
and thanks for the admirable comment, it's nice for a guy to respect a girl for her intelligence.
as for matt and all them- i've known matt for almost three years now- he lived across the parking lot from me, and he's definitely a sweet dear friend to me. I know Jason through Matt...and I met Merinda sort of randomly on Picrave and she knew Matt- so the whole chain thing occured...*if that made sense*. All great people haha.
i appreciate the advance of help, i'll be doing it pretty much on my own, my dad has been sick since my soph year of college and i just found out my mom is sick too...so they'll be there to help- but moreso just to be there which i still totally need.

sorry to hear about the health issues with your parents. msut be tough. i was in dayton about 3 months ago for a day. i went to columbus and drove to dayton to see emily, merinda and jason. i'd met jason before out here.
i love smart girls. dont get me wrong....i love looks and that stuff, but dumb girls drive me bonkers!! intelligence is sexy.
well it's really good to meet you. like i said....you have one friend in san diego now :)
Re: san diegodawningitJanuary 27 2004, 19:29:33 UTC
it's okay, you learn to deal, my older sister is 36, so my parents are a bit older- i was an accident waiting to happen haha.
that's awesome you were able to visit them and all that good stuff. Looks only get you so far, it takes something to back them up to keep someone interesting- it's amazing really...so much social emphasis on them- but if there isn't anything working upstairs it almost defeats the interest or so I think.
Nice to hear that intelligence is sexy.
yes. I'm Dawn, i guess I should formally introduce myself.
nice to meet you as well, and you have another friend in Ohio.

i stayed close to home for school and regret it to this day. wish i would have gone and really experienced college.

merinda is awesome. she's my monkey. any friend of hers (almost any) is a friend of mine.
like i said...if you come here i promise we will make your transition easier for you. :)
