Hello Dear,
"I haven't heard about the bathtub,..."
Madeleine turned on the upstairs bath water (around 9 pm) and went to do some AIM. About 9:42, Hillary and Addie went into the kitchen to get a snack and started screaming at the top of their lungs. Simultaneously, Madeleine began shrieking from the bathroom. Dad and I shot out of bed to investigate--Dad to the bathroom, me to the first floor. The tub had overflowed and there was an inch or so of water on the bathroom floor and somewhat less on the floor of the "artroom." Downstairs there was a shower of water flowing through the central light fixture. As Hillary, Addie, and I distributed buckets under the flow and threw towels on the floor, holes began to open up in the ceiling and water began pouring through everywhere. I checked the basement, and, sure enough, water was pouring into there, too. Dad and Mad finished sopping up the second floor flood and joined us on the first floor where Dad began slicing through the drywall seams to allow the remaining water to flow freely. The next morning, he drilled 3" diameter holes all over the ceiling trying to allow air in to dry out the sheetrock and to determine the extent of the water damage. Would you like pictures?
Love,
Mom
