Hi, Livejournal. No, I didn't forget about you. I never could. Nothing interesting has really been happening.
NaNoWriMo began. I'm participating and it's going extremely well. I kind of like my story. BUT ABOVE THAT, I haven't fallen behind my daily word count at all and we're half way through Week 2! Week 3 is usually the hardest for me, as I tend to get bored of my story and end up right before the big "twist" sort of thing. But that may be different since I have a plan this year. But yeah, it's coming along swimmingly.
Also, haaaaaaay, I got the email from the 30 Covers 30 Days people at the end of October asking for permission to possibly maybe hopefully use my synopsis for a cover. I gave them the okay and every day, I've been obsessively checking the Office of Letters and Light blog.
Tumblr has kind of taken over my life. uguuu I can post videos of myself doing nothing so easily, oh my God. I'm updating there like 3 or 4 times a day. SILLY, BRIEF STUFF.
OH RIGHT. RIGHT. I ALMOST FORGOT.
PROFESSOR LAYTON. CUTEST GAME EVER. I'm playing the first one right now on an emulator on my netbook. The sound is all distorted and it's kind of hilarious. I just play with it muted. Art style and music is just uguuuu the best. Some of the puzzles make me sort of want to cry, though. That's okay, I think. It means I care.
(Gotta love parts of journal entries getting fucked with! I'm writing this on Thursday night because lol part of my original entry never made it. I long for the day when technology is perfected.)
I LIKE DOCTOR WHO NOW.
I I I I I have a friend who recently started watching it religious and I referenced it in my NaNovel (in a really clever way) and oh God, I started with David Tennant because he's pretty and and and and I'm four episodes in and I really like it. A lot. It kind of grabbed me by my beating heart and hasn't let go yet. I've been watching two episodes every day so at this rate, I should finish Tennant's first season in like a week. I might go back to the first season after that or I may just press forward and watch it later idk.
I'm getting new glasses! I went to my eye doctor today and my eyes are just a bit better for reading up close but I'm showing signs of astigmatism so I get new lenses. And new frames. Big, cute, Buddy Holly-esque frames. I really like them. I should get them within a week. I'm excited and relieved, since I've had the frames I have now for like, years and they're starting to show their age. One of the uh the arms is really loose and is probably going to break off if I keep on fiddling with it.
Between my fancy progressive lenses and insurance not paying for my frames in full, the new glasses cost my mother 150 dollars. Feels bad, man. Really bad. I don't know why, really. I didn't need these specific frames so I offered to pick less expensive ones. My mother seemed okay with paying 50 more dollars than she really should have. I still feel really bad, especially since the insurance would have paid for bifocals, which would have got the job done just as well as the progressive lenses, but I don't think my mother would have let me get bifocals since they're kind of visually unappealing. (I think bifocals are kind of cool, to be honest)
I'm going to miss my old glasses. ;_; It's not like I'm getting rid of them or anything but they're kind of going into retirement. I affectionately refer to them as my eyes. They're very much a part of me ;_;
