Yesterday was ridiculous. I stupidly decided that I needed to walk to the mall despite it being TWENTY-FIVE BELOW ZERO. I was well bundled and even had New Republic orange tights on under my jeans (so sexy) and a scarf over most of my face, but I thought my nose was going to fall off! (just like Tycho, snerk [only austere_mauve will think that's funny... if that]) The total distance ended up being 7km. Yeah. Who's a smart one?
I did make some epic purchases though. I scoured the craft/stationery section at Zellers for blank cards that you can decorate yourself but there was nada, so I went back to Dollarama (aka BEST STORE EVER) to buy more poinsettia garlands and what do I find? Make-your-own card kits! Five cards in each for A DOLLAR TWENTY-FIVE. ILU DOLLARAMA. So today's project is to make the cards and nerdify them up (aka paste Spock and Kirk all over them, muahahaha) and break out the glitter! Whee!
I also found this hilarious stocking that's supposed to be for a dog. It starts out saying 'Dear Santa Paws' (harrharr) and ends with saying 'Bring me lots of bones'. So, naturally, I had to buy it and 'improve' it to read 'Bring me lots of Bones' and sign it 'Jim'. Cackle. I think I'll stick in my ontd_startrek Secret Santa gift because no one else would properly appreciate it. I also scored the perfect present to send, and I didn't pay a cent for it! Captain Linzor works at a store that is selling the DVD but didn't use any of the promo stuff that came with it, so she snagged me part of the display case :D I was going to keep it for myself, but I don't really have a place for it, and I just know it would make my fellow GQMF very very happy. Whee! Now I just have to actually send it this week so it gets there on time... hahaha...
Also, LAST CALL FOR CHRISTMAS CARDS!! I'm hoping to get them sent tomorrow or the next day so that the international ones stand a chance of getting there on time. They might not, but Ima try anyway! Yay!
