I made it through half my movie list! I decided I wanted to watch 'The Secret of Moonacre' first, which is a good thing because it was really, really terrible so the day could only improve from there. I was also feeding the raging chicken fajita addiction I picked up in Toronto, and my homemade ones were exceedingly gross, so it was a terrible combination. Ah well. The only reason I wanted to watch it in the first place was the hilarious recap that I linked to previously, but I would definitely say skip the movie unless you're really desperate for some very pretty, sort of brooding, occasionally weeping for no reason Ioan Gruffudd. Mmmm.
So having started with that, I decided to proceed with the remaining movies based on their Britishness. So next on the list clearly had to be 'Robin Hood: Men in Tights'. Ahahahaha oh man. I knew it was going to be terrible because a) SO NINETIES and b) Mel Brooks, but I was still amused. Cary Elwes was, and still is, so foxy. I know I would have enjoyed it more if I'd ever seen 'Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves', but I reeeeeeeeally can't stand Kevin Costner and it sounds so very lame. I was extremely obsessed with 'Everything I Do, I Do For You' back when I was younger (back when I used to listen to one song on repeat for weeks at a time- oh wait, I still do that. Nevermind.), but I don't think I really want to watch it just for that. I'm also seriously attracted to the guy who played the Sheriff of Rottingham :D SO MUCH PRETTY. And then he gets dragged off to live forever as love slave to the scary witch-cook. Bahahahaha. Also SURPRISE PATRICK STEWART :D I heart that man soooooo much!!!!!!!
Next in order of Britishness was 'The Princess Diaries 2', based solely on the presence of Julie Andrews. And then it turns out there's John Rhys Davies (<333) and an adorable English nobleman who gets roped into marrying Anne Hathaway only for her to ditch him for Captain Fine. EXCELLENT CHOICE, MADAM. His hair was seriously bad in this one, but not near as bad as his hair in most of his
other films. And considering I was only watching it for him, not near enough Chris Pine. ILU CAPTAIN FINE <3333333333
The Britishness of the remaining movies on the list gets a little hazy after that, since there are no British actors in any of them. My terribly logical line of reasoning then tried to connect the main actors with British actors, which really doesn't work with an entirely Swedish film and a Japanese anime. The only connection I could make for 'Blind Dating' was that Chris Pine is a Star Trek Captain and so is Patrick Stewart. But Viggo was in LotR which had many British people! See? Logic! So I went with 'The Prophecy'. Mind? Consider yourself blown. :D
Is it wrong to be so very attracted to the devil, especially when he's groping the male lead and wearing black nail polish? I thought not. VIIIIIIGGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! I was also very much attracted to Simon (couldn't figure out where I knew the actor from, but he was John from 'Little Women'!!!!!!!!) and the poor almost priest turned cop who lost his faith as he was about to be ordained when he saw visions of angels killing each other. Also, the devil used to hide under his bed. Damn, I want Viggo!Lucifer hiding under my bed :D I have decided that, based solely on the character design for Lucifer, that Viggo needs to play a werewolf someday. Logic! I has it!
Moviesmoviesmoviesmovies. Despite having so many new ones I've never seen, I keep wanting to rewatch all my old faves pretty much all the time. I had to force myself not to rewatch 'Sense and Sensibility' today, I just rewatched 'Constantine' for the millionth time, I want to watch 'Princess Mononoke' pretty much daily, and now that I've been talking about werewolves I want to watch 'Underworld' again (though Viggo!werewolf would >>>>>>>> Lucian any day :D). THE WINNAR IS ME.
We'll see if I watch the other half of the list tomorrow. Erm, and 'Terminator: Salvation' again. Ahahahaahha. <3
