So, as I was cleaning out my room, I found my old Nikon which once belonged to my mother. It had a half-exposed roll of film, which is probably from RI (could be from after the move though). I know the film itself is at least five years old (I was also very excited to find about five more rolls of old film along with the camera). So I went out back and took took about ten more pictures to use up the rest of the film. I printed up a York photo order form and mailed out my film.
I'm pretty excited to see how it comes out. After googling expired film, I found examples which looked mostly normal to pictures with all kinds of wonky hues and saturations. I myself am hoping for pictures which look like they're from the 60s. I used my big 18-200mm lens, which, while made for a digital camera, fits the old nikon. It's a wide angle lens, so on the old camera the corners were vignetted through the viewfinder. I figure even if I don't get my faded 60's look, I'll take the vignette. I'm pretty excited for my pictures to come in the mail in a few weeks. (Also I'm curious to see what the first few pictures on that roll were!)
I'm leaving my house in exactly 36 hours, and if all goes as planned, I wont be back for almost a year. I couldn't be more excited.
