short sparkly and to the point

And now, a small, spoilerless summation of my reactions to Sherlock:

episode 1: SQUEALS OF JOY AND DELIGHT
episode 2: ...meh
episode 3: FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF *falldown* oh thank heavens there'll be more

...And on that note, I made some shiny things the other day and I took pictures of them, and now they are here:

dr_schreaber commissioned me to make a lanyard (for an ID badge) and a pair of matching earrings, and that is exactly what I did! I'm pleased with the results, too. They went off in the mail today!

One of the perks of knowing me in real life is that very often, safelybeds and raininariver come over, and I'm all HERE I JUST FINISHED MAKING THIS DO YOU WANT IT ... and here the answer was yes! A bunch of buttons on crocheted cotton thread, around the throat of the lovely safelybeds.

Freshwater pearls on a single strand. Not the most exciting thing on the planet, but I liked the simplicity of it, so I kept it plain.

Little agates all linked together, bracelet-wise.

I took some of the leftover agate beads from the original strand and put them with some dragons...

...and some hamsa hands! I suppose I could have some found some eyeball beads to put over them, but that would've been just plain creepy.

I had some little spacers and some of these faceted glass beads, so I put them together! And then I had some left over, and I made earrings! ...Man, my jewelry-making stories are just not that exciting.

Glass beads on gold. They sure are. ...I really need to have another Getting Rid Of Earrings sale. Maybe I can time it with a Getting Rid Of Memory Wire Bracelets sale, because I've got about fifty gabillion of those things, too, and the only bracelet I ever wear is the one I never take off.

And then I put a seahorse on it.

A hybrid rainbow! Glass beads of various styles on six strands. ...I really like how this came out, but I'll probably end up getting rid of it since it's just not quite my style.

And now, time to finish writing my Intro to Bible final before I pass out. One of the nice things about teaching a class I've taught (twice!) before is that writing assignments pretty much consists of cribbing from the assignments I had last time.
