Haha, Crappy Weekend

I hardly ever post here. It's so stupid to pay for something I don't use. So I come back for the standard emo-pityfest post. Haha, bite me. Yeah, I'm in an awful mood. I'll get over myself soon.

Anyway, I had a crappy weekend.

On Saturday I shoveled a lot of snow. I was feeling pretty good about getting a good workout in. That night I wanted to go to a movie and supper, but, as I was getting ready, I felt the waistband on my jeans might have been too tight. It felt like my button up was pressing too hard above my belly button. I went to change, and noticed that my jeans button was well below my belly button. Duh, I hate that high waisted jean, it looks like your bum's on backwards. Anyway, I'm off the topic. I still changed into another, looser, lower cut pair of jeans, and my tummy still felt that pinched, pressure sort of feeling. I rubbed the spot where it hurt, and there was a massive (I mean pea sized) lump! Crapcrapcrap, I thought I had freaking cancer! I went out to the living room and got my husband to feel it, and he suggested it was more likely a hernia. I wanted to Google it then and there, but we had to head'er or, we wouldn't have time for dinner and a movie.

All through dinner I fretted, and couldn't enjoy the food. I picked at a little tempura, and then we took off to the movie - which was sold out for all the shows, three weeks running (Casino Royale). Okay, let's go to Blockbuster's, and get Davinci Code - all gone too. So I came back and Googled around for my symptoms, and felt pretty confident it was an umbilical hernia.

Meanwhile, my cat, Milky wasn't looking so good. He's been losing weight for about a year now, but I put that down to inactivity, and age. He's been his normal energetic and playful self, but on Saturday afternoon, I went to bring him in, and I couldn't find him. Normally I just open and close the door, and he comes tearing from wherever he hangs out, and then, I let him in. I looked for him, and found him laying all hunched over on a wet pile of leaves. I brought him in and he could barely stand up. I gave him a warm blanket, fed him, and gave him some water. He spent the rest of the weekend hiding under my bed, and was only mildly interested in his favourite (like once a year) treat, tuna.

I slept badly on Saturday, and worried about my belly and the cat. He didn't sleep next to my pillow, as per usual, and stayed on the rocking chair in our room.

The next morning I went to a doctor at the local walkin, and it was definitely a hernia, so now I've got all my labwork done (today), and still have to go in for a full physical. It's all leading up to a small operation to close up the weakness that has developed above my belly before it gets serious. Still, it's a big relief, since my first reaction was complete panic.

Yesterday, when we were cleaning up the house, we put Milky on a towel next to the bathroom heater, so the vaccuum cleaner wouldn't stress him out. He'd just drunk a whole lot of water, and I was worried about that. He was still listless, too. After about 20 minutes we went to check on him, and he had vomited, and looked pretty rough. I gave him more water and phoned the vet. They had no openings available for about three hours, but I must have sounded worried, because the receptionist told me to come in, and they'd squeeze him in. Long story short, the vet took one look at him and indicated he was done in, then she scooped him up, he was so limp! We paid up and left, me crying pretty hard.

So, well, there it is. My crappy weekend.
