1. The good news is: I got a job and I start Monday. The bad news is it requires a lot of meetings with people prior to my start date, and it's far, and there's construction all on the highway so I sat in bumper-to-bumper traffic for about 25 minutes yesterday. My eye has been hurting since yesterday afternoon. I thought it was pink eye, but it seems to be doing just a little bit better and I didn't wake up with crust all around it, so maybe I'm ok. Let me tell you about the awesome night I had last night. We had a nasty thunderstorm roll through the area yesterday afternoon. The lights kept flickering on and off all afternoon, but at about 6:30 the lights went off for good. It gets dark in Japan at about 7 and I still had a class to teach.
