Farewell Borders?
Is it bizarre to be utterly devastated that Borders is closing forever?
Where the heck am I going to browse books? Actually pick up the volumes, flip the pages, skim here and there, read the last page (I swear I only very rarely do that, honest!)??!! Walmart? Target? Pfht!! The tiny mom&pop shop that's super overpriced for the tourists? My options in our local city are pretty slim!
We're reward members who actually get our monies worth in the free-shipping, and discounts - and books are something so... almost sacred in my family... and Borders always had what I liked, be it manga, fiction, educational - no other store (Booksamillion, Barnes & Noble) ever had that perfect fit - which is why I was so grateful when we moved here that there was a huge Borders. I NEVER buy my books anywhere else.
And now it's closing? I think I need to go cry..... :(
