movies?

Why do movies now feel the need to bastardize perfectly good books? What is the point? The book had a good story line to begin with. The author had carefully thought out the significance of the setting, the characters. S/he had built an entire world. I can't imagine how painful it would be to see that world come crashing down in a sluice of a bad ( Read more... )

I was so angry when I saw they'd turned The Nanny Diaries into a comedy. (If you haven't read it, there are some comedy parts but it's mostly gallows humor on top of heartbreaking stuff).

The previews for Golden Compass don't look... terrible yet, though. (There's soemthing absolutely right about the way Nicole Kidman came out)... I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
