part three is here...
After arriving at the warehouse neighborhood that Lily had sent the coordinates to, the boys started to gear up for a serious battle. Ben had popped his truck open to reveal various types of weapons for them to choose from. It wasn’t something abnormal to have a truck loaded with guns and knives. Between them, whoever had a car, had a truck just like that.
Johnny picked up two silver 45. and extra ammos, which he attached to his belt. Quinn took a 9mm handgun and hid on his waistband, covered by his shirt before picking up two curvy knives, perfect to body-to-body combat. Nick and Alec took sawed shotguns, just to be sure; they didn’t need guns to fight. Ben didn’t bother picking anything up, he had already gear up before leaving home.
They knew the warlocks had probably a small army around to face them, after all, their parents’ fame ran a long way. No one would dare go against one of the new generation by itself, it was suicide.
Ben guided them through the maze of buildings, towards where his phone was signally Lily’s. She was partially hidden by the shadows, a bow on her hand, her blonde hair was tied in a neat ponytail. She nodded at them quickly, before briefing them about the situation.
The two warlocks who had stolen the car arrived at the warehouse about half an hour ago; inside, Lily had counted at least 10 other when she went to make a quick recognition of the place. Strange to have so few, but it would make their job easier.
“We should divide and take them by surprise.” Alec suggested. There was six of them, against ten, not a big difference, except warlocks do have magic at their favor.
“Or you could just bust in and start the slaughter.” Johnny replied with a shrug, earning nods from Ben and Nick.
“They won’t be expecting such a blunt attack.” Nick completed.
“It’s us Nick, of course they will be expecting a blunt attack.” Alec rolled his eyes annoyed. Strategy wasn’t his cousins’ forte. “At least let’s have Lily on the roof.”
Ben glanced at his sister, who just shrugged. She didn’t care if she would be in the middle of the battle or being their sniper, if she got to stick a few arrows in some demonic asses she’d be happy.
“Ok then.” Nick said, already eager to fight. “Let’s roll, boys.”
They all moved to the front of the warehouse, stopping beside the door while Lily agilely disappeared in the darkness. Time for action.
Johnny kicked to door open, spinning the two pistols in his index finger in his best western performance.
“Why did you have to mess with my ride? Now I’m gonna have to kill y’all.”
The battle was a mess. Bullets, arrows, fireballs, fists flying all around, but in the end, the five boys stood in the middle of the large room, breathing heavy, hurt and bloody (except for Alec, who regenerated almost as soon as things ended) but victorious.
As soon as everything calmed down, Johnny dropped his guns and hushed to his car, running a hand almost reverently over the black metallic roof.
“I’m so glad you ok, babe.” He spoke softly to the car, sighing in relief. Ben eyed him with a raised eyebrow and smirk in his lips.
“Should we leave and give you and the Impala some privacy?” Johnny just scoffed at him.
“Don’t mind him, babe, he’s just jealous ‘cause he has to drive that yellow beast instead of a wicked restored classic.” He spoke again to the vehicle.
“Does he always speak with the car?” Lily asked, making everyone but Quinn jump. When did she arrive?
“Sometimes.” Quinn replied with a shrug. “Uncle Dean does it too.” Lily sniggered, shaking her head.
“Winchesters are crazy.”
“Don’t expect anyone to say otherwise.” Nick answered with a grin, before sighing and pushing his hair away from his face with a little distaste at the blood and sweat combination. “Let’s get going guys. The sun will rise soon.”
Alec nodded his thanks to the Krupps before walking over to the Impala. Johnny just made a small salute from where he was before sliding into the car by the driver’s window. Nick shook Ben’s hand, promising to tell the older boy everything tomorrow.
“You should check that cut on you forehead, Quinn. It looks pretty nasty” Lily said with a small smile before starting to follow her brother out of the warehouse. “Oh, happy birthday.”
Quinn stood there a little frozen in his place; blood tricking down the side of his face, knives heavy in his hand. He was aware of the fact that Aunt Liv had already noticed their absence and called over his parents to let them know. When they got home, he would be grounded for life.
“You’re coming, baby boy?” Johnny asked, propping half of his body out of the window.
Quinn didn’t answer even though he could feel the confused gazes from his cousins boring holes on his back. His eyes were focused on the blonde leaving the warehouse.
“Oh, screw it!” He whispered to himself. He could either tell her now or end up like Alec; and he’d always liked to believe he had a little more balls than that.
“Lily!” He called out while he jogged towards her, making her turn around with a questioning look.
Quinn didn’t say anything, just pressed his lips against hers in a quick, but surprisingly smooth motion. Lily smiled against him, sneaking her arms around his neck, bringing them closer together.
Alec, Nick and Johnny stared at the display with mouths hanging open in awe. What happened with the shy Quinn Pendragon they’d used to know?
Johnny recovered from the shock first, whistling loudly and clapping.
“That’s my boy!” he called out, making Quinn laugh and break the kiss.
All in all, this was the best birthday he had ever had and he was completely happy, his heart beating so fast that nearly busted out of his chest.
Lily grinned at him and gave him a quick peck on the lips. “See you later.” She whispered before hurrying to her brother’s side.
Ben just smirked at Quinn and walked out, without a word, while the younger boy finally joined his cousins in the car, receiving a small pat on the back from Nick and a grin from Alec.
Johnny smirked at him from the rear-view mirror and started to engine, turning on the radio at the same time. The lyrics from We are the champions greeted the four boys, making them bust out laughing. That was absurdly fitting.
They arrived at Nick’s house with the sun peeking on the horizon behind them, coloring everything with a warm orange. Nick, Quinn and Johnny exited the car with tired yawns and stretching their bruised muscles. Alec stayed behind for a moment, staring at the house, lost in thought.
This was the most fun he had in, well, ever. Even though they got arrested and had to fight a group of warlocks to rescue the Impala, it was fun. God knows he hate to admit it, but Johnny was right, he needed to act his own age more often.
“Coming, golden boy?” Johnny asked, standing on the top stair on the porch, Nick and Quinn a little behind him, watching Alec as well.
That was the first time Johnny used the nickname without a single hint of distain or irony and for the first time, Alec just smiled at it, feeling like part of the group, not just the boss who told them what to do.
His smile widened and he climbed the steps quickly, reaching Johnny, who just threw an arm over his shoulder and smirked.
“Hey guys…” Quinn said quietly, grinning. “Thank you. This was the best birthday ever.”
Johnny turned his full grin on the boy and messed his hair.
“Of course it was! You got the girl!” he said simply, while Nick opened the door as quiet as possible and they slipped in, being greeted by John, leaning against the stairs with a raised eyebrow. The four boys froze in place, looking guiltily at the tall man.
Constantine gazed at them, smirking at their state. Clothes dirty and ripped in a few spots; blood marring their faces; cuts and bruises; and even from where he was standing across the room he could smell alcohol and cigarettes.
“Your mother was ready to murder you.” He said absently, eyeing his son. Nick cringed a little, but said nothing. “You four are busted.” They all nodded, staring at the floor. “Go upstairs and sleep, you can hear the punishment later, right now, you boys look like crap.”
They fought to hide their grin while climbing the stairs quickly, towards Nick’s room. They could deal with everything later, after their parents cooled down.
Outside Nick’s room, they met with Ashley, standing in front of the door with a neutral expression, which turned to shocked one when she saw Johnny’s arm still around Alec’s shoulder. She opened her mouth to ask, but just shook her head instead.
“You know what? I rather not know, but mom is so gonna kill you as soon as dad let her out of the bedroom. He had to magically seal the door when they heard the engine’s noise.” She smirked, walking back to her room. “And uncle Dean was having a fit.” Ashley finished, watching Johnny grimacing.
Oh yeah, he’d never touch the Impala again while his father was alive. He would have to live with the SUV. That of course, if there was enough of him to actually drive a car after his parents were done.
Inside Nick’s room, Alec and Quinn claimed the old bunk; Alec on the top bed and Quinn on the lower one; Johnny fell over Nick’s double bed. The boys crashed there so often that his mother just decided to put on extra beds to save the trouble. Quinn’s and Johnny’s rooms also had them.
Alec was staring at the green ceiling in deep thought; Ashley hadn’t even acknowledged him outside; that stung.
“You’re right, Johnny.” He said quietly, without looking at his cousins, but knowing fully well he was receiving some shocked stares.
“Yeah?” Johnny replied slowly, watching the other boy. “About what?”
“Ash.” He said simply and shrugged. “I need to move on.”
“We have you back dude, no matter what.” Nick said patting his foot and Alec just smiled in thanks before closing his eyes.
Nick on the other hand, was confronted with a small problem. Alec didn’t crash over very often; only when Johnny wasn’t around; so now Nick was one bed short to sleep on.
“How come I’m the only one without a bed when this is my bedroom?” He asked with a frown.
“You’re a good host.” Quinn answered with a smirk and Nick shot him a dark glare.
“I’m so not sleeping on the floor.” He grumbled. Johnny moved, making space for him on the double bed. “I’m so not sleeping with Johnny either.”
Johnny glanced at his cousin with a tired look.
“Nick, stop being a drama queen. I’m not gonna molest you in your sleep; if it was your sister, maybe…” He teased with a grin, receiving a pillow on the face from Alec. “I thought you were moving on.”
“Tomorrow, asshole.” They all laughed as Johnny threw the pillow back at Alec.
“Honestly, Nicky, you don’t have boobs so you’re pretty much safe.” Nick sighed and climbed on the bed.
“Pretty much?” Quinn asked with a smirk.
“Well...” Johnny smirked back. “According to Lynn, I tend to cuddle when I’m asleep.”
“If you cuddle me, I’m so kicking your ass.” Nick threatened, turning away from Johnny.
“No, you won’t.” Alec and Quinn replied sleepily.
“Oh, shut up.” Nick sulked, making Johnny laugh. He kicked hard the other boy's shin. “Go to sleep, Winchester!”
