Just finished watching what I've decided is my favorite Sailormoon storyline ever -- the six or so episodes that sort of bridge SuperS (season 4) and Sailorstars (season 5). Mamoru gets brainwashed again (by the mysteriously resurrected Neherenia) and Usagi and the gang have to save him. I know that the premise isn't exactly original for this series, but if you go beyond that, it's just a really great and unique string of episodes. We get to see all ten Senshi as a team, with the Inners and the Outers having to work together in ways they never had to before, and there's a lot of really great themes going on -- dreams vs. reality, revenge and forgiveness. And the setting -- Neherenia's nightmare world -- is absolutely fantastic (I love the "Alice in Wonderland"-like scene with Usagi in the field of flowers -- and I realized tonight that it must be a sort of homage to the "river of memories" chapter in the manga). It's well-written, (mostly) well-animated, and just beautiful.
From here, I think I'm going to start watching the rest of the season. I've always been a fan of it -- even of that chump Seiya. And one of these nights I'm going to have to turn down the lights, grab a box of tissues, and watch episodes 191-200 all in one shot. It's the only way to do it right.
I have a couple hours of weekend left. Think I'll spend it reading Song of Susannah -- kind of a drag, but at this point, I just want to see how "The Dark Tower" ends.
