We beat the best team in baseball in three games and didn't need extra innings this time!
I was able to start watching about a half hour into it and caught up around three hours in. (Oh, the Chiefs lost, btw :P)
When Trout hit his solo homer in the first I was like 'oh crap, the big hitters are finally going to get hot', but... (Okay, Pujols hit a homer later, too, but also a solo).
Then we loaded the bases in the bottom of the first and Alex hit a triple bringing in Billy from first! Billy! (and then later he stole second; I mean, really, could there be bigger signs that we were supposed to win???)
Moose and Eric both hit homers. The team with the lowest number of homers in baseball this year has won the post season with homers! Okay, we would have won tonight without those three runs since we won 8-3 (they got a run in the 8th before Holland came into the 9th and one-two-three and they were out!)
The Angels took their starter out in the FIRST! Who does that??? It didn't help. Neither did taking out that next guy in the second.
Great, great game, decisive win unlike the other ones. The rain came and no one cared, no one left even after the game was over for several minutes and the team was celebrating on the field getting soaked.
George Brett had the biggest grin on his face. Like a shocked, happy, amazed grin.
