several small happies

Not KU. They lost to Texas 16-0. Our offense stinks. As I was driving to the restaurant half way through the fourth quarter, our QB threw his FOURTH interception.

Our defense is promising, though.

Anyway, happy #1 is that I was able to fit in a pretty blue mini skirt (which on me falls below the knees) I haven't been able to wear for several years.

Happy #2 is that I was able to find parking in the lot right next to the restaurant. I was worried because Mass St. (our main downtown street) was very busy with people at bars and shopping/eating and lots of cars, but the restaurant is on the same street as my office, one block over, and there was plenty of parking. On the other hand, I drove past several Frats/Sororities on the way home and there was a stupid party bus just sitting there in the driving lane! Also, a limo was taking up the handicapped spot my parents always park at and mom's calling the City on Monday and complaining.

Happy #3 is that while by the end of the meal I was a bit gassy, I got home without an accident1 Had to go as soon as I got home but I was a bit worried because last night I had to go twice right after eating. But then I went several times today and didn't yesterday during the day. I keep going from blocked up to too loose. Today was better, though, and it would be nice to sleep through the night.

Happy #4 is that I had what may have been the best main course I've ever had at this restaurant (which I've eaten at probably a good 30-40 times--their menu changes by season). The starter was okay--roasted peaches with a cheese ball--but I had the venison loin for my main. Cooked perfectly, very tender, in a mustardy sauce on a bed of brown rice with a creamy corn topping and a couple shrimp on the side. God it was good. Finished with a small piece of ricotta cheese cake with almond crunch on top in a blueberry sauce. I made sure they didn't cook the venison in alcohol and had her hold the amaretto apricot from the dessert, just in case. I also ate a couple of mom's fries in aoili sauce. They have really, really good fries. She and dad both had burgers (hers with no cheese or bun) which are apparently very good, too.

Happy #5 is that the "final" fic due tomorrow isn't really final. It just has to be 90% done or mostly done and roughed out in places. So, really, it's a rough draft. Posting isn't till January probably so plenty of time to get it polished. I still hope to get it all drafted by tomorrow night but I don't feel as pushed because it won't have to be edited. Also heard from my artist who is getting ideas. :)

The kink bingo due Tuesday is not going to happen unless I find I have time to squeeze out a couple to fill one line at least. :( Being sick just sapped it out of me completely.

I'm now watching the Royals I taped earlier. Hopefully I taped it for a long enough time because the first hour was taken up with Konerko's retirement party. Hell, it lasted longer than Jeter's!

Dammit, White Sox just scored in the first. Dammit, now they just hit a two run home run. Dammit.

And I have got to get up and mow before church in the morning.

ku football, royals, writing, fine dining, family, stupid body, stupid people
