Plus, one day closer to the weekend. *g*
Well, I'm glad I didn't go to choir last night. I was feeling more alive and could have gone but then I went to the bathroom three times between 7:15 and 7:35 which would have been right in the middle of rehearsal.
Instead it was right in the middle of me attempting to make chocolate chip banana bread at half time. It was like a comedy of errors--mix in an egg, have to run to the bathroom, peel the bananas, have to run to the bathroom. *g* I ended up pausing the game right before the start of the second half and never did catch up to "live".
And then I went to the bathroom two more times before bed while trying to watch the last five minutes of Revolution. Jesus! lolol Thank god for the pause button.
Sorry for the TMI but I feel a hell of a lot better today and slept really well for about seven hours.
Got purpley gray polish on my toesies. Another comedy of errors was the machine wasn't working (massage chair, footbath combo). The power strip had shorted out but also the socket got switched off. It took two people fifteen minutes to figure out all the problems, find a new power strip, test it, get everything running. *g*
I forgot the recipe called for buttermilk. Luckily I know the fix to that. It made me wonder about how many people don't really understand the ins and outs of cooking these days. From the different types of measuring cups and why they're different, to the need for salt in baking (the only thing I use salt in), to leavening and substitutions etc. I'm not sure where I learned that five minutes of lemon juice sitting in milk is a good substitute for buttermilk--probably from my mom who learned it from her mom who learned it not from her mom but her aunt etc. etc.
Sadly it'll end with me. My sister-in-law bakes from mixes or cookie dough rolls.
I do regret not having kids. I would have been a good mom, but that wasn't in the cards. My mom only got one grandkid and I think she's a bit jealous of my aunt who last month got three great-grandkids to add to the three she already has on top of four living grandkids. (Mom's finally going downtown to buy baby gifts for my two second cousins, one had twins).
Oh well.
Thank you all who commented on my hesitant love meme last night/today. Will go back and comment on others later. :)
KU won last night. Not a blow out, but on the road in the Big 12 is never easy. We held a pretty consistent seven to eleven point lead through most of the second half, only letting them get within four once. Still, we tried to throw the game away in the closing minute a couple times. I think, instead of just playing offense, the guys were waiting for Oklahoma to foul them so they got stupid with the ball and committed a couple turnovers.
And Mizzu and NC lost last night so it was a very good bball night. *g*
There have been a lot of upsets and close games this year. Makes for an exciting season and hopefully an exciting tournie. One of the reasons I don't watch women's bball is that there are like four teams that always win and win big. Boring!
I reset all the future programming in the stupid DVR and realized that Intelligence isn't even on ABC. It's on CBS which, as far as I know, lets you watch stuff online the next day, but it's also replaying tomorrow night so I'll record it then. Still no SHIELD but dad is saving it so I can watch it tomorrow if no one does the naughty. The one Vampire Diaries I still have to watch from when the DVR reformatted a month ago is airing tonight so I've got it set. I watched PLL and Revolution last night so only have Ravenswood on the DVR in case it freaks out again, and shows on non-networks almost always air again during the week leading up to the new episode.
Do not like the new Will on DOOL. Not attractive at all. Do like the EJ/Abigail thing. Sami's going to kill them both.
Pulled out of the garage this morning to find a dusting of snow had come out of frickin' nowhere. Where is this big warm up??? It was supposed to be in the 40s by now and yet today there's a chance for snow flurries. I've got bare legs, dammit, and errands to run after work, and all my pjs are dirty so I'll be cold when I get home until I can get some laundered.
Oh, I uploaded that short little ficlet I wrote for the snowflake challenge to AO3 and got more comments on it than on the last four ficlets combined. Apparently happy fluff sells. Unfortunately my brain does not like happy fluff most of the time. One comment was hilarious--something along the lines of 'I know you said this was fluff but I kept waiting for a demon to jump out and eat them all because it's you'. *g*
I need to read my Clexmas fic that came in late last night. What I did posted a while back and got some nice comments including from the recipient. :)
And Fandom stocking reveals might be tonight, wheeeeee!
I need more coffee. (theme of my life)
