oops missed doing the meme over the weekend...later

There are still a lot of days available over here. You know you want me to babble about something.

Sunday went pretty well. I'm still behind on everything. Still need to make that list of things to do.

Church went well; the songs all sounded really good. I have a three octave range which is just amazing (from a C above middle C, which I struggle with, to a C two below middle C, which I don't). I sang along with a tenor line in one song where they were alone and Lisa can't go that low. I don't want to sing tenor regularly though.

It was bitterly cold and we had snow/wintry mixed overnight that continued to come down very lightly but enough to coat the window with the crap by the time I left church.

The Chiefs blew away the Redskins. :) Best game of the year. Long punt returns, one for a touchdown. Another return for a touchdown, I think four sacks of RGIII, and an interception on him. Our QB wasn't sacked and I think we had one turnover. The game was over by the end of the first quarter when we were up 24-0. And we were playing on a very slippery field in the freezing rain, but our receivers actually managed to hang onto balls! Last week, decent weather, nope, kept dropping the darn things.

The lady I often take to Chalice Circle (she drives to my house and we head out from there) drove us since her car was heated, and she's a very sweet woman, but my god worst driver ever. Kept drifting over the line, going way below the speed limit (and the roads were fine then, coming home when it had snowed more, she went like 25 on the highway).

(Interrupted with an urgent plea--STOP ME FROM TAKING ANYMORE YULETIDE PINCH HITS! I now have two. *head desk*)

Okay, where was I...

Oh, yes, Chalice Circle. Topic was God and our definitions of him/her/it. I like the "unfinished god" definition, which is process theology which is a lot about creativity, creation. If I picture god at all, it's kind of a spinning galaxy, the moment of creation. In paganism, creativity is often linked to breath and wind, and there was a lovely quote about god being in the breath within the breath that resonated with me. And it was in my old goddess group that I felt my only moment of the sacred being real.

Still not really sure what I believe. But I think it was one of our best meetings so far.

One of our service projects is helping prepare for and serve the older members lunch this Thursday. Obviously I can't serve or clean up, but I'll be there to set up tables and food trays Wednesday night after choir practice, and I'm baking four dozen peanut butter cookies tonight. One of our Circle leaders is in charge of the thing so she kind of roped us in. *g*

Anyway, got home, had dinner, made banana chocolate chip bread which I may have let bake about five minutes too long. I know my ovens bake faster than recipes; why did I set the timer for the time in the recipe???? Didn't burn or anything and smells great.

So I'm done with the bread I'm giving as gifts.

Finished (except for an epilogue and major editing) my SPN reversebb and sent it off. Now I need to concentrate on the TW one that's due next Sunday.

I watched The Amazing Race and was pleased with the result. Also cool to see Alaska. I'm pretty sure that ramp leading down to the harbor in Juneau was the exact same one I walked down. *g*

Oh, also, brother got me ideas of things to buy his wife and son. Son is easy--fannish stuff, plays something called Minecraft--wife wants $300 umbrella and $300 clock. Yeah, no, but there were a few things affordable on her list. So I am now done with shopping!

Except I have to go to World Market to get a new Christmassy candle holder as one of the three feet broke off mine somehow. They're metal! Also need smelly stuff to go in my snowman nightlight from Bath & Bodyworks, so will hit up World Market (which also sells peaberry coffee apparently) since they're in the same strip mall, then grocery shop across the street at Target. I need four cups of peanut butter. It will also keep me from cheating on my diet as there's no chinese deli like there is at my usual grocery store. I was very good all weekend.

Boss had a meeting at 9:00 this morning--never a fan of early meetings as that means he's here *g*, but he's gone now for errands and lunch.

Tonight I have to bake said peanut butter cookies, package up some stuff to mail tomorrow, and maybe start wrapping presents while watching the Bears/Cowboys game.

chiefs, church stuff, holiday shopping, stupid weather, choir, writing, holiday baking
