Dear Yuletide Writer
So, a big thank you for writing something for me for Yuletide. I've been participating in this challenge for four or five years and really love it--makes me stretch my fandom wings as I tend to stick to the larger ones for the most part.
First off, I'm not at all picky. I'll love whatever you write. Below the cut are just some suggestions. If they inspire, go for it, or ignore them completely. I do list a few things I don't like at all and I'm sure you'll take those into account because you're awesome. Also, I love any rating, pretty much any genre, het, slash and gen, and dark stuff (even noncon) is AOK with me. But, again, write wherever your muse takes you!
First a few things I don't enjoy: second person, scat and watersports, deathfic (unless specifically asked for or it's a canon character death), mpreg (except a few fandoms where I love it and write it obsessively), babies/kids dying unless in canon or very minor characters, ABO dynamics (highly unlikely here), bashing characters (unless the characters do it in canon), all human AUs (which probably don't apply here), complete AUs where people are placed in different eras or different places or space, when, for example, the fandom is set in 1900 New York City (again these probably don't apply), and, finally always a different gender characters (ie Kevin Corcoran from Copper having been always been Kevina).
I'm not a huge fan of complete fluff but love happy endings. I love angst and dark stuff and kink other than the ones listed above that I don't like. I also love domestic stories, and character driven stories, and baby/kid fics. I'm a historian at heart (and degrees) so historical accuracy or at least along the lines of the fandom is greatly appreciated. First or third person, one perspective or multiple, all are great. Oh, and I don't mind infidelity; I know some people do.
Oh, also, if you want to throw in other characters from the fandom not listed or in the tagset, feel free. There are none in any of the fandoms I've requested that I don't like.
So, except for one, I went with a few fandoms I've never read in or thought about asking for, but they intrigued me...
1) Victor Victoria: When I first saw this movie, I mistakenly thought that King hadn't realized Victoria was a woman when he kissed her. Give me a story along those lines and I'll love you forever! But, really, I loved this movie to pieces even though I haven't seen it in years. Anything you want to write, during the movie, after the movie, including other characters, is great.
2) Revolution: I only asked for Charlie and Monroe but feel free to bring in any others, just prefer the focus on them. I am up-to-date on the episodes and I love the developing relationship between them. My naughty mind goes to the gutter with them a lot. But, y'know, another way to go would be pre-show when Charlie was a little girl and Bass was her uncle's best friend. Anything, really.
3) Snow White and the Huntsman: Just watched this movie and enjoyed it a lot more than I expected. The twist that it was the Huntsman's kiss that awakened Snow was refreshing...and then they didn't deal with it at all! I'd love a fic that does address it, either bringing them together, or him pining over her as she marries William for propriety's sake, or her cheating on William with the Huntsman, or just about anything that's set in the future.
4) Jesus Christ Superstar: I love the original movie and may have seen this one if it was televised at some point (I saw something in the early 2000s on tv). I also love the soundtrack and figure the story is the same regardless of when it was produced. I love Mary (and I love The DaVinci Code's story for her--I've also done a lot of research on her Gospel, so I don't believe she was a whore; whether she was his wife or not is still open to interpretation). There's a lot of tenderness between she and Jesus in the movie and every production I've seen. I'd love to just see more of that. I have no problem with them making love, either. You won't offend me (really it's extremely hard to do that).
5) Copper: I loved this show (wrote for it last Yuletide); so unhappy they cancelled it. I especially love the relationship between Annie and Corky. A future fic when she's grown up would be great. A fic where Eva's baby is actually Corky's would be great. St. Patrick's day in Five Points would be great. Corky and Francis going out drinking and whoring would be great. Feel free to bring in any and all characters as long as the focus is on at least one of these four. (I can live without any of them but Corky but figured it was safer to ask for more than just him).
6) The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia: I nominated this; love the song and have since I was a kid (which was a very long time ago). I'm partial to Reba's version from about a dozen years ago. I'm sure there's a video on youtube somewhere. Anyway, more background of what happened to lead up to the events of the song, or analysis of any of the characters, or how sister deals with her grief, or why cheating wife cheated... Anything would be perfect. There is NO fic for this song.
