Because they sucked so badly last night. Three errors in the first three innings. *sigh* After only one in the first ten or so games. The worst was guy hit to deep right field, Francouer got it off the fence, threw it a good ten feet in front of home plate, letting runner score, Perez (catcher) threw well over the head of Moustakis (the third basemen) and it rolled to the wall, as he ran it down, new runner was heading home and he threw it over the head of Perez.
Another one was Moustakis throwing to Tejada on first, forgetting that Hosmer wasn't playing first. Hosmer's like six inches taller than Tejada, so the ball sailed even though Tejada jumped.
Just...clusterfuck completely.
We lost 8-4.
As mentioned a couple weeks ago, I signed up for a pornathan for Teen Wolf, Mating Games, and teams were announced yesterday. I was chosen for Team Alpha which I'm very happy with. You can write about any characters, so that doesn't really matter, but I would say I don't really identify with Allison (Team Hunter) or Isaac (Team Beta) or whatever Scott's team is. So Alpha or Spark (Stiles) either would have been great with me. While I adore Lydia (Team Human), I prefer the wolves over the humans.
Anyway, first challenge goes up tomorrow. Short pornlets, something like 500-800 words. Keeping plot out of it in order to get the smut in will be interesting as everything I write these days is heavily plotty. I'm going to try to gauge how people are voting. I'd love to just write dirtywrongbad Peter/Stiles the whole time, but I have a feeling that Derek/Stiles stories will be the ones people vote for, even if they're not as well written. It's obvious that's the main pairing in fandom, certainly on AO3. I do love them, too. I'm sure I'll write Lydia as well. She's my Cordy, is my Laure, basically.
That said, my Peter/Stiles ficlets do get good play on AO3. :)
Apparently Cult is gone (not canceled yet, but I dumped all the eps from my DVR and computer as why bother watching?) Last night at 7:58, while watching the Royals, I remembered I needed to take it off the DVR and just record Vegas so I could continue watching the game, and it was already gone. Went to tvguide.com and saw it was removed "for now". Doubt it'll be back.
I've watched several eps of Revolution, only one left before it went on the big hiatus. Despite not really liking the main character, I enjoy the show. I love Miles and Bass (bad boys, really, my thing) and how badass mom is. I do think it's kind of sanitized. Example, that ep with the kids on their own for six years? There were teens there. Why aren't there infants? I'm sorry, but at 13 or 14 they'd be fucking and there'd be babies.
They alluded to the badlands, but are they cannibals? Cannibalism would be a real thing. Okay, they do have guns and can hunt easier than with bows and arrows (a la Stirling's dystopia) but there would be more burnt out cites, more mass graves, more rotting corpses. Yeah, the current "now" could be as it is, but with much smaller population, much more struggle for day to day survival, and the population numbers would be greatly reduced after the first few years of mass death. And so far we've seen mostly northern areas; most likely anywhere that suffers from hard winters would have seen high death rates due to lack of food and shorter growing season. Anyone with a brain would have headed south to farm land or the oceans for fishing. Certainly no one would have stayed in the cities--plague, food shortages, would have hit quickly.
Maybe I'm just "tainted" by Stirling's books.
On another note, I just realized that Kripke's named all the episodes after songs, books, and movies. Mostly songs, at least two Led Zepplin songs so far, so his love for classic rock isn't limited to SPN. *g*
There's a show coming this summer called "The Dome". I'd like to protest that I wrote that when I was a teenager. *g* No, really, I had a dome cover my hometown, trapping a handful of teenagers/college students (pretty much me, my friends, and all the cute guys we knew) in it. Everyone else was wiped out, though, unlike this show.
Only so many ideas in the world, guys. lol
I've been sharing my "expertise" about baseball with
lonelywalker this morning. Damn, that game is confusing! lolol
I've also had Sportscenter on mute for three hours and pretty much all I've seen is 1) the Tiger Woods penalty for dropping the ball in the wrong place which should have gotten him expelled (and rounds and rounds of talk about it); 2) Kobe Bryant's injury and 3)...not much else. I think I saw the Blue Jay who got hurt sliding into second last night once, and maybe caught a glimpse of the Yankees doing something (winning, losing, it quickly went to Tiger or Kobe.)
Right now some guy in a green jacket is going on and on about Tiger's penalty and, I'm guessing, the reason why he's still allowed to play. You know damn well if it was Joe Blow, ranked like 100th or something, he'd be out.
Well, should try writing something or doing laundry or something. Need to bake banana bread today before the bananas go completely bad.
