Huh, so apparently you can buy booze on voting day now. When did that law change? (mom went to liquor store yesterday)
Speaking of, none of the people I voted for City Commission won *sigh*. So big business/pro development is still running the city. All three of the School Board candidates I voted for won, defeating one of the two incumbents. And the school bond issue passed. Only 16% of registered voters voted. That's just fucking sad. And that was actually up over the last local election only that was in 2011.
Oops, just realized I didn't update Heartache last night. *sigh* I actually went to bed right before midnight--I was tired from about 1:30 on yesterday. I did watch the last two New Normals. If it doesn't come back, that was a nice way to wrap it up. Love that song they played during the baby's birth.
I did put up another chapter of my TW fic to good reception. Hope to write more on that today and maybe sad smut.
I signed up for two more prompts at Queer Fest. One was for "any fandom" but the prompt was for a werewolf and Peter started yammering in my head immediately. The other was a TW one--sadly no Peter/Stiles prompts. I'd already signed up for a Spike one. I've never participated before so it'll be interesting.
We haven't even gone on this year's vacation yet and dad's planning 2014. We'll be heading to London for a week the first week of June and then going to their cottage in Scotland from whence we'll be driving and ferrying to the Orkneys. I've wanted to go there for at least 25 years so I'm very excited about that. Most like brother and his family will join us for that part and then I'll come home and parents will stay on in the cottage. We'll be staying in the same flat in London we've stayed in the before, right on Cambridge Circus. Hopefully I'll be much thinner and then I'll buy up London's clothes. :)
I'm looking forward to being in that area of London with mom because while she was there with dad last year, he doesn't like shopping/browsing and she doesn't really like doing it on her own, so they spent a lot of time lazing around the flat. I just can't do that. Hell, last time, I couldn't sleep when I got in and went to Harrods on the first day! I'm not wasting time in London lazing around.
Anyway, had this bizarre dream about going to San Francisco with my parents and I was so mad because mom didn't bring her laptop and I didn't have a computer and what the hell was I going to do, and there was a lot of driving and a hotel full of children. I think it stems from me mentioning to mom that I'll be borrowing her laptop for the cruise in August unless I use some of my tax refund to buy a tablet with a keyboard, but ONLY if I can get one with a USB port because I plan to take a bunch of tv shows to watch. Obviously there's no tv reception on a cruise ship but there are inhouse movies and there's internet reception.
Well, I have a ton of stuff to do today, look up readings and find readers for Sunday for one, and oh yeah some actual work so...
vacation plans,
writing,
tv blather,
voting
