what was wrong with the old posting page?!

And what's with the minimalist header?

And, okay, my font is tiny typing this.

*switches back to old version*

Okay actually the font's the same size, but still!

So, yesterday was a gorgeous day, 60s and little breeze, so I decided to get a few things purchased downtown after work.

So did everyone else in town.

I needed to go to the 700 and the 900 blocks and ended up parking one block over for each. Isn't it always the case that when you drive down one side of a street with parking, people pull out on the other side? Must have happened to me at least a half dozen times.

The reason to shop on Thursdays is that most of the stores stay open later. I say most because one of the ones I wanted didn't. I should have checked to see if it's open Sunday; if not, mom's not getting that top. I did notice that a lot of newer stores are staying open later most evenings--apparently they've caught onto the fact that more and more people can't shop during the week day.

Anyway, the biggest problem is that I walked about four and a half blocks total in high heels. Yes, they're my comfortable black Mary Janes which I've worn many times walking across the street to court and to the grocery, but not four and a half blocks, plus wandering through stores and standing to pay.

Feet hurt!!!!

I did discover that our new sweet shop makes their own sugar free chocolates. I got a sample and tried the chocolate pecan nummy last night and it was really good.

It's amazing how five dashes of hot sauce made the potato soup about a thousand times better--not at all "hot" but just more flavor.

Watched the Vampire Diaries; was very very happy that certain thing finally happened but not the reason why. Neither is apparently anyone else who ships this couple. grrrrrr cop out

Still way behind on tv, but since I finally got SPN Season 7 on DVD (for $9.99 at Amazon!!!) I was able to dump it off the DVR and free up some space.

Too bored to pick something else to watch later in the evening I ended up watching Project Runway and Abby's Dance thingie. The latter is like a train wreck sometimes, but the kids are amazing dancers.

Got my book and candy swap box off today--I got the same person for both! lol I'd hoped to get a couple other packages off but while I have the items, I was too lazy to go find boxes and package them up. Plus I need to wrap some of the stuff in holiday paper which means fetching that, too.

I also realized that with our holiday brunch next Saturday I need to bake breads all week and figure out something to take to brunch!

I think I need to make a list of everything I need to do before Christmas and schedule stuff or I'll be decorating three days before Christmas.

And, finally, while it's been on the calendar for several weeks, I finally asked off work for the week of Christmas and New Year's Eve. My boss was like 'it's on the calendar, right'? Well, yeah, but I didn't actually ask you! lol I did this last year and it was really nice. Technically it's only four work days off since we have Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Year's Day off already.

I'm also taking off the first two days of the NCAA tournie because I'm tired of watching the first (second, whatever) round on my computer and being interrupted by people who don't understand how important basketball is. It's triply annoying when KU plays during the day and people CALL ME OR COME IN THE OFFICE! Basketball, people, it's practically a religion around here!

basketball as religion, cooking, staycation, holiday shopping, ouch!, lj being stupid
