Well, to be sort of fair, the Marshall Fields (never a Macys it shall be to me *g*) does do elaborate window decor, but before Halloween!? Ridiculous. It's bad enough stores put out Christmas stuff before Thanksgiving but now they're doing it before Halloween, too. *sigh* But then I saw a Christmas Target ad on tv at least a week before Halloween.
There's only one 's' in Castiel! Where do they get two for Cass? Just silly!
LOL, after telling an out-of-town pal to "meet me in front of Fields," and they had no idea what I was talking about . . . I started calling Fields "Macys" when dealing with non-Chicagoans who aren't familiar with the backstory. I keep forgetting that you KNOW Chicago! :)
Fields *ahem* has only just begun assembling the Christmas windows -- the gun-jumping decorations I meant were inside the store. Christmas trees, ornaments, wreaths and such. Some of that stuff was up ON OCTOBER 17TH. D:
Oh, I despise the "Cass" spelling with the fires of a thousand suns. Silly SPN writers!
My mom remembers trips to Marshall Fields when she was a kid in the 1950s to see the windows and eat in the Walnut Room. Her mom's closest cousin (like a sister) lived in Chicago and for decades sent nana a box of frangos every Christmas. I remember eating them as a child when my nana was still alive--probably why they're my favorite candy.
It was still Fields when I went to Chicago the first time back in the late 1990s. But I've been to it as Macy's too. Just sad. But at least they still sell frangos.
I had a friend who loved Xmas music so much she played it all year long. Yes, you would hear "Here Comes Santa Claus" on her answering machine in July.
This week's SPN was pretty good. VERY glad to have Cas back and Dean out of his ridiculous self-flagellating funk. Next ep looks great -- another funny one with Cas saying ridiculous things :)
Was NOT going to miss the adorableness that is Will and Sonny having sex for the first time, or the Gabi being pregnant with Will's baby bit.
Wow, I can tell it's been a long time since I watched DOOL, I don't recognize a single one of those names. Is Nicole still on there? That girl with the long hair who was an opera singer or something (Chloe, maybe)? Victor? Bo and Hope?
Will is Sami Brady and Lucas Horton's son; he's gay and so damn adorable. The actor is incredible and won an emmy last year for Will's struggle with his sexuality. Sonny is Adrianne and Justin Kiriakis son.
Victor is married to Maggie Horton. Yep, Nicole is still on; she just lost her second baby, this one nearly at term. Heartbreaking. I've always liked her despite her being a bitch. *g* Chloe's returning in January. While Hope is still around the actor playing Bo since 1982 or something (mostly) just left because he wouldn't take a pay cut.
Victor married Maggie Horton?!?!!!! Jesus, that must have thrown a big ol' monkey wrench into the family dynamics LOL!!
So the ones I didn't recognize are all "next generation," that would explain it. I think I stopped watching right about the time Nicole and Chloe came on the show, but I hadn't watched regularly since about 1985 (!!). So Peter Reckell is gone again, eh? Maybe they'll bring back Robert Kelker-Kelly -- I liked him, and not just because I went to junior high with him ;) I also thought he was way hotter than the original Bo. So who's Nicole married to?
Remember Eugene and Calliope? Every time I saw Q on Next Generation, all I could think of was him and Calliope :D

OMG, the State Street Macy's had begun putting their damn Christmas decorations up . . . TWO WEEKS BEFORE HALLOWEEN. WTF, seriously?
y'know, CAS (no, I refuse to spell his name Cass, even if that is canon. It's stupid!)
*wild applause*
*salutes you*
IMO, "Cass" shall forever be Mama Cass, "Cas" shall forever be Castiel, and never the twain shall meet. ;)

Stores around here put up some Christmas stuff around Labour Day. I was flummoxed. I don't want to think about Christmas then. I truly don't.
