yawn

Just got another "I'm calling about the copier in the office" call. As soon as I say "we don't have a copier" (because, technically we don't as it's an all-in-one) they hang up. Lovely way to start a Monday.

Actually, my drive in was amusing as I saw the following bumpersticker:

"Every time you buy a piece of art a Brownback horcrux dies a little bit."

*g*

That would be a reference to the governor cutting off funding for arts which caused Kansas to lose all federal money as well.

Well, boss is off to have more medical tests. I do have work today but he won't be back so I don't have to be constantly busy.

Am very sore. Mom came over Saturday and we Fall cleaned part of the house. We moved out the old couch and microwave and tidied up the storage room enough to get the Christmas tree downstairs (yeah, yeah, I know). Then we put together a bookcase for the dining room so that I can bring all my country house books up from the moldy basement (and put on shelves the hundred or so books I need to read). I can't follow directions to put furniture together and dad gets it all backwards and frustrated, but mom is really good at it, so it looks good. Then we cleaned the kitchen. Poohed out before we got to the floor but she did a marvelous job on the stove and the hood.

But my legs are all sore from sitting on a low stool and crouching and bending over. So need to get back on the treadmill. *sigh* I also got very hot and sweaty because while it was like in the 50s outside, I can't open the house because my allergies are killing me.

I watched the second half of KU on the computer and then they lost and sucked. I zoned out most of the evening, watching KSU beat Oklahoma rather soundly at OU. At least one university in Kansas is doing well.

I woke up to find it 65 degrees in the house! Cold front. Of course by tomorrow it's supposed to be in the upper 80s for a couple days. Stupid weather.

We did the Fall Equinox celebration at church with a bread sharing ritual that I made up, and it went pretty well. I fell asleep in the second half of the Chiefs game with them losing by a couple touchdowns and woke up with about five minutes left and them only three points behind. They won in overtime, yay!

CBS still fails. Yes, on Sundays there are two games, they've made the concession of moving their nighttime tv back a half hour to 6:30 but the game was still going on at nearly 7:00, so I still have to record The Amazing Race for two hours.

Oh, on Saturday Firefox decided to freeze on me after not playing espn.3 games so I had to download Chrome, and when I crashed it and restarted it, all my tabs were lost. OMG, over 250 tabs of mostly unread fic. I'm having to go through the history and open up all fic links and check to see if I've read them. I know I won't get everything back. I've got this month and three quarters of August and older stuff done and probably will only do July. So fucking tedious. But, I guess if a fic's been open since last year, that probably means I won't read it. What is also annoying is that a couple days before I'd started going through the tabs and dumping fics I didn't think I'd read but I'd only done about a third. Those fics I'd kept showed up in recent history, at least.

While I did that, I watched the first four eps of Copper which I quite enjoyed. I couldn't figure out who the blonde woman was until I checked wiki--she's Kathryn on OUAT. I like her character quite a lot.

Also happy that Haven has returned.

Tonight the real rush of new tv starts. I still have all of SPN from last year on my dvr because I haven't bought the dvds yet because I'm kind of waiting to see if my brother bought it for my birthday...which was over a week ago. Okay, I know I took three weeks to send my sister-in-law her gift, but at least I sent her a card on time! I didn't even get a card, except for my nephew leaving me one the weekend they were here.

Oh, when we were tidying the storage room, mom pulled out two dirty blankets and told me to wash them. One was just a blue basic blanket, the other was one of those veloury/spongy ones. I went to put them in the dryer and found that the spongy one had exploded into foam bits and nylon netting. lolol Luckily mom is taller than I am because I can't reach the bottom of the washer at the back and she pulled out handfuls of the crap. I guess you can't wash those. I didn't care about either blanket--they were couch covers and I now have purple throws which are much nicer--and should have just tossed them to begin with.

I really need to get working on writing fics rather than reading them. Part of this Saturday is taken up going to the airport; next Saturday is mostly shot due to Spiritual Celebration Team meeting. I have a 10K rough draft of a fic I haven't started due four days after that. Plus I need to finish the Vampire BB since one of the main characters hasn't even shown up yet.

Kind of glad I didn't get a SPN reversebang fic (all my choices were chosen before I got up on Saturday morning) since I'm so far behind, and holiday challenges are about to start.

Okay...probably should work and maybe fic...or read fic. *sigh*

football blather, church, general annoyances, tv blather, cleaning is the devil's work
