what i wrote and haven't written and new obsession

I've not gotten as much written as I've wanted--really need to stop reading Sherlock fic (my new obsession--why did I wait until yesterday to watch season one?!). I have written the fics I've been required to, but been slackery on everything else. *sigh* Only a good eight hours left in staycation, too.

I'm currently watching the overtime of the Outback Bowl, waiting for the start of the Rose Bowl. Really, the only one I care about is tonight's Fiesta Bowl with Okie State. so far the Big 12 is 5-1, the only loser being Iowa State who pretty much fluked their way through conference play enough to qualify. They're the only team to have beaten Okie State. I'm still not sure how that happened.

I've been cat sitting so I have had to leave the house twice a day since Friday and I need to stop at the grocery when I go feed her this evening. Debating over whether or not to shower or just wrap a scarf around my head.

Having gone into work on Friday I know just how much is waiting for me and how little time I'll have to write, plus I do have a sermon to write on Mary Magdalene for this Sunday, so I should actually get on with the fandom stockings instead of dithering about showering and writing this.

*g*

I'm kind of glad I didn't watch Sherlock season one until a day before and the day of the start of season two because, man, cliffhanger! I think the show is brilliant. The new episode was not only equally brilliant but both slashy and asexual, playing to the fans, I suppose. *g* Also, Cumberbatch's voice kills me almost as much as Alan Rickman's...

Mostly I'm posting to share my Yuletide fic. Not an overly popular one as mine never are, but at least it never made the 'needs loving' list. My recipient loved it and so did the person who nominated the fandom who turns out to be on my FL! So, I'm doubly happy.

I went outside my comfort zone, not writing in books, tv, and comics like I usually do. I saw a song I knew very well and have had a copy of to listen to since I was a child, and got an idea and put it on my offer list. It was the only one I matched on and my recipient gave a lot of details in her letter which matched up perfectly with my own views of what happened in this song.

Anyway, I wrote for "Ode To Billie Joe", White Flowers for carmilla. If you've never heard the song, there's a link at the top of the fic to Bobbie Gentry singing it on youtube. :)

Okay, game hopefully coming to a conclusion or another tie...Tie.
