stupid dc, not the town

Man, is LJ just running slow for me or for everyone. :P

A mouse ate my parents' phone. This is the second time it's happened in the last few years. It eats the wires in the box outside the house. They've been having trouble for the last couple of weeks but it always seems to coincide with storms until yesterday when it was clear with light breezes and it went out again. So finally they called the phone company and they're fixing it today.

Remind me never to live in the country.

The Royals finally put together a decent game managing to get past a bad first inning where the Angels scored two and bring runners in and hold off a bases loaded situation with the bull pen playing two scoreless innings. Let's make it two in a row today, boys!

I'm holding off on really freaking out over the changes coming to DC comics until more is known, but apparently they are renumbering all 52 superhero books so no 1000 issue of Action etc. I'm currently reading several new books that are still in the single digits. Are they just going to vanish or start over with #1? That seems pretty stupid. Also, it's all spinning out of this Flashpoint thing this summer which I wasn't planning to get, since there are like 30 books alongside all the books I already spend too much money on. If these are the new origins, I'm not happy as none of them look appealing. The only thing I am happy about is that Jim Lee will be drawing Justice League, though if it's a JLA of the originals, I'm not happy. I like that the former Titans are now the JLA.

Considering that over the last year they've spent a lot of time and money and new books on reinventing the bat family, it really doesn't make sense to change all that already. If they do revert characters to earlier versions does that mean Dick becomes Robin again and, if so, what about Tim and Stephanie and even Damien? I like how the characters have grown up. I was there when Dick went from Robin to Nightwing to Batman. I don't want him going back!

I really hope this is all just being majorly hyped and the changes will be minimal. If not, I'll be saving a lot of money on comics come the fall. I guess in the end it will be what they do to the books I read that makes me stay or leave.

So, I guess I really didn't hold off...

In Marvel news, I'm still squeeeing my head off over Magneto and Rogue...

New tv starts up already next week! I need to rewatch the White Collar season finale again as it starts up next Tuesday. I'm really looking forward to Falling Skies, too.

One of the tv guide guys agrees with several commenters that Criminal Minds Suspect Behavior should be wrapped on Criminal Minds, at least with a few words of 'yay Beth's alive' or something. Let's hope they do that.

Well, that's about it so far today. Thrilling, I know. *g*
