Today Lent starts. Lent is a period of forty days, ending with Easter. It is meant as a period of meditation and reflection on the life, deeds and suffering of Jesus, and the meaning of this all in our lives. I am still reading the old Roman Breviary, I do this until Christmas. Today it is again one of the “quarter-temper days”, days of contemplation and repentance, just as last Wednesday.
