Tuesday, First week of Lent, John 2:13-22, Cleansing of the Temple
It is late now, and my hands and arms are sore. A few lines only. The story I have read today is the Cleansing of the Temple in John 2:13-22. Jesus went to the temple and saw moneychangers sitting at tables and people selling cattle, sheep and doves. He got a rope, made a whip and chased them away. He also turned the over the tables of the moneychangers and scattered their coins. It is not a sweet Jesus we encounter here, which is refreshing. Jesus acted this way because he did not want the temple, the house of his Father, to be a marketplace. He wanted it to be a sacred place, dedicated to God.
My question to the tarot today was: “What do I need to clean, or to clean out, in my life, to make my life more sacred?” A more positive formulated question would be: how can I make my life more sacred, or what does my life make sacred? (Sounds less negative.) But I took the first one.
I have picked my card from the Fantastic Menagerie Tarot, and again I’ve chosen my deck by pulling it from a little bag with titles of decks in it. The card that I have drawn is: Knight of Wands.
I have little time and not many sentences left, but the card and the question deserve more time and attention that I can give it. That says it all. Big projects, but not enough time.
“Wild an passionate” is what the book along the cards says about this knight. And yes I am, ah well, not really, but I go a long way for my projects and I am very busy. I long so much for more leisure-time, but my time is packed full.
I think this is it, but again, I have no time left to think about it.
