Fourth day of Lent, John 1:43-51, Bragging

In the story from John that I have read today (John 1:43-51), Jesus gets another two other pupils. One is called Nathaniel. A friend had told him about Jesus. “Oh,” Nathaniel said when he heard were Jesus was born, “You tell me he comes from Nazareth? Nothing good can come from Nazareth.”

I think about the line "It's not bragging if it's true."

I think there's some truth to this assertion re: this card for this question.

Thank you, yes, this is an interesting line of thought. It gives rise to questions as: What does it mean that Jesus is saying this about himself? What does it mean to me, or how do I feel (how do I experience myself) in connection with a man to whom these things are happening (me as this beetle on the King of Wands, feeling very little? I am laughing out loud here, but it is probably very true).

A question could be also: In what way did the heaven go open and came the angels down on the Son of Man? I would love to ask this question to the cards.

My husband reads this passage in a whole different way. According to him Jesus does not point to himself here in the beginning of the Gospel of John, but is refering to a title: to the title "Son of Man", which everyone knew at the time, it was a savior who was being expected. So, that savior could be another one than Jesus.
