A Change... Would Do You Good.
I decided today that with all of the negativity surrounding my "internet presence", as it were, it might be best if I were to TRY, at least, make myself a little more difficult to follow and harass.
And I thought that a new start may be nice.
So I'm moving my main blog, my main webpage, my livejournal, my myspace, and my message board, as well as changing my email address. Since I've "put down roots" in a lot of places, as it were, it's probably going to be a long process, but hopefully within a month I'll have everything changed.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not naive enough to think that there aren't petty people who will be more than happy to FOLLOW me, but perhaps with the change, I'll be able to dump some of the more lazy folks, and even perhaps just a bit of the negative baggage. There are still people who will continue to read my blog despite the fact that they don't like it, just to see if they can find themselves in it (whether they're actually there or not) so that they can go and lie to their friends, and possibly even mine, about me blogging angrily about them.
That's fine. I'll sweep that garbage out the door as it comes my way.
Perhaps, says you, the best solution would be to simply get off the internet altogether... eliminate your web presence. Aaahhh, perhaps, but I think that that would be letting them win.
Because see, I've been at this longer than most. I've been one of the excited fans championing in the cyber age. So, no. I'm not going offline.
I'm just changing my number.
And for those folks who DO insist on following me despite the fact that they have nothing but nasty remarks and criticisms... they can count on their nasty remarks and criticisms being deleted.
Because, like I've said before, I'm done. And whatever I need to do to to get that message across (legally), I'm willing to do, EXCEPT lay down and say "You win. No more internetz for me."
I maintain that it's not the internet, and it's not me.
I'll email those of you who I think would like the new address. For anyone who DOESN'T get an email from me within the next week or so and WANTS the new address, please feel free to comment, email me, or call...
At which point I may reserve the right to NOT give it to you.
But I'll probably give it to you. Hey, I'm all for people approaching me OPENLY. ;)
And when I do move, PLEASE still feel free to give the address out to friends. Just try not to give it out to people that you KNOW have malicious intentions. Like I said, I know this won't keep ALL the assholes away, but maybe it will make it just a LITTLE more difficult for them to follow me around hounding me.
Until I get everything switched over the way I want it, I will continue to blog here, but you might notice a bit of a change in style. Just a little.
