And, I thought I lived in a nice, quiet town....
Okay, the weather change from cold to warm to cold to warm is quite literally bring the stupid idiots out in force!
Two weeks ago on a Friday night, it was some stupid fool firing off a couple of rounds w/ his shotgun outside my building at 12:30 in the morning.
This past Saturday night.... a high speed car chase went flying by my apartment close to midnight going south on Jefferson back towards Hwy 100.
So, since the STL Post and other local news channels don't cover anything out here unless it's a super major crime, nothing showed up there that I could see. I had to wait for the Missourian to come out in order to provide the details. (It only comes out on Weds. & Fridays.)
Apparently, a 24 yr old idiot from here in Washington, got into a wreck up in Ellisville (which I find amusing, since hello - west county - where I used to live!) and left the scene of an accident, setting off the whole car chase. He then got into another wreck in Krakow, one of the blink & you'll miss it hamlets between here & Union and left the scene of that accident too.
When the chase went screaming by my place, the back passenger side tire was blown and the fool was down to his rim, throwing major sparks. He was being chased by like every black & white cop car in the city (although, now, there may have been some Ellisville boys thrown into the mix, since they also drive B&W patrol cars these days) that came from both sides of 8th Street, from 5th street - all of 'em screaming after this fool.
Acc. to the Missourian, the dork is being held in jail on a $50,000 CASH ONLY bond. Now, he must have truly been drunk or stoned off his ass to do a chase for over 30 miles and across county lines.
I bet the PA is going to add alllllllll sorts of interesting charges to this before it all comes down. Okay, time to get the errands done today that I didn't get done yesterday, because the surgeon decided to send me over for a mammorgram before releasing me and that took like 2.5 hours of mostly waiting before doing 2 sets of x-rays and then an ultrasound. (I got over there about 2:30 in the afternoon, didn't leave until like 5 pm!)
