So, it appears the new MT at the Pink Place, S, is a drama king. He was going on that he didn't want to do massages w T since it was "illegal" (she's grandfathered in for massage, since she's been at this before the state licensed massage) and he didn't want to lose his license by working with her. To which T said, "Fine. I don't want to do

And if where I work is anything to go by... yes they ARE AFRAID of staff meetings... because they don't want to know what is wrong with the place or have to stick to the word of what they said at the last meeting.
(Now after working at the spa for nearly 6 years they are deciding we definitely should have business cards... at least for full time staff.) Now we had pretty much discussed this yearly at the spa and the last time it was "revisited" in a staff meeting it was decided that if we wanted business cards that the person whose name was on the card (MT)... would have to pay half... and I think cost was estimated at $120 per 1000 cards. Then they decided it was going to be a full color 2 sided card.... with the spa logo and a list of services, not to mention the usual, name, address, phone # and website. And we didn't order them last year because it seemed so expensive.
So now they are pushing us to get business cards.. at least the MT portion of the staff... and they say it'll be about $90 - $100 per 1000 cards. I pretty much told them if I can't have the back pretty much blank to write in information I like to give my clients... that I don't want business cards. They kept putting the list of services the spa offers on the back only taking out a logo on the back...giving me like a half inch to write. Alycia said her Mom wanted that info on the card. I said well, it doesn't do me any good to have them if there is no space to write on the back. So they finally backed down on that.
Now there is no mention of them paying half the cost of the business cards like they said they would last year... even though the only thing that makes it "mine" is going to be my name & license #.
And almost none of us can stand, Jill, the newest MT they hired in May. You may remember she told Alycia that I didn't even want to work there... the first time she met me (because I wouldn't let her do what she wanted & perform a service on me when I had to get up and give one to a paying client afterwards with no make up on & oil in my hair). She has caused a lot of drama amongst the staff since then. Not even Alycia's mom (the boss) can stand her... but they are determined to keep her on through the end of October. I hope they think it's worth it! She is awful hard on the morale of the rest of us. Not even Nick, our moody man MT (PTS - Pesky Testosterone Syndrome) can stand her. LOL
