So, I promised a post on how I got my tie done for my cosplay, yeah.
Well,
(1) I started with a boring (but shineh) purchased tie. (No way would I have made one :/)
(2) I scanned the tie with my scanner to get the actual size in my computer; I did some photoshop work and lined up and expanded the character sketch design of the tie onto my actual-size scan.
(3) I did some work to make sure that I got it as clear as possible and printed; then I took a marker and made sure to mark where the design is to make it clearer for me (picture not my actual worked piece).
(4) I cropped where needed to make them line up (picture not my actually worked piece); and took some packaging take to it...
(5) I made sure to tape over the entire design to make a future paint buffer for this stencil that it would become.
(6) I spent the longest time cutting out the black area from the white and tape area cutting out sections of the black line that in order to maximize the usefullness of the stencil to lay out the main design.
(7) Using a little foam stencil paint brush thingy, I went over the main design skipping the super-decorated areas...
...was really messy...
(8) I removed the stencil to reveal what I had painted.
(9) I touched up and did some minor detail work in some areas.
(10) I sketched out and painted some of the major detail work of the butterfly on both sides...
(11) ...and did some finishing touch-ups to certain areas.. :)
...and FINISHED!
And have I mentioned how incredibly pleased I am with the results? Granted it took me a great deal of time to get this just right~ but it was all worth it. :3
...and it looks awesome all together. :)
