So what is up with my crazy student dreams lately? last week I dreamed that the only student I had in class was one of my female Saudi students (who has since moved on to a higher level, so she wasn't even technically my student) was the only person in class. I was trying to teach her about commas and oysters.

Over spring break I had two dreams, one about each school. First, I dreamed that I was an American student at the ESL school (I have no idea why I would be taking ESL classes; it was a dream) and I was friends with a Korean girl who went by the Anglo name "Elias". Don't laugh, we get some odd choices upon occasion. So, one of our classmates asks when Elias and I are going to start dating and I explain that, first, we are only friends, and second, Elias was a girl and neither of us were attracted to girls. They didn't seem to understand that answer, so the whole dream was me arguing that, indeed, Elias was a girl. It didn't matter if she chose a boy's name; "Charlie" was a boy's name. It didn't matter that she wore a plaid shirt; they make women's shirts in plaid now. In fact, you could see the shirt was cut for a woman. That was the whole dream.

Very next night I dream that I am trying to teach my OLOL class about basic first aid. Now, keep in mind this is a medical college, so the vast majority of my students already know more first aid than I ever have. In the middle of the lecture, one hand shoots up and the student asks "What's a 'sun burn'?" Another pipes up with, "Yeah! No one can get to the sun! How are you supposed to get a burn? That's silly!" So the whole dream was just me trying to get them to understand very basic concepts that they should already know.
