A community I'm in is having a fun game thing ^_^ So I wrote something for it. I dunno how well it sticks to the challenge, but I tried.

Title: Interruption
Rating: G, PG at worst?
Challenge: 'That is not a toy.'
Characters: Sasori, Deidara, Itachi, Kisame
Word Count: 479
Notes: For tekko_

Sasori never paid much attention to the goings-on within the Akatsuki. He was often far too busy with his work. He happened to have the good fortune of being alone in his workshop in the storehouse, Orochimaru having gone elsewhere for the time being, when the doors burst open and a loud voice carried through the darkness.

"And here's where the workshop is, hmm. It's usually more crowded in here, but Sir Leader told Orochimaru to end a bunch of his experiments, yeah. Good thing, too. It's hard to fall asleep with all that screaming outside."

He set down the torso of the doll he was working on, turning around. Deidara and Kisame were escorting a little boy between them, giving him a grand tour of the Akatsuki headquarters. He frowned. Why did they have a child with them? Where did he come from? He didn't look old enough to be a chuunin, much less have anything to do with them. "Deidara, who is this boy?"

"This is Master Sasori, he's a genius artist and puppeteer, yeah. He works with Orochimaru, the other man from Konoha, mm. You met Orochimaru already, yeah? Tall guy, really pale, black hair, yellow eyes..." Deidara continued speaking, and the boy showed no sign of caring. Rather, he walked over to the table and picked up a carved wooden arm, turning it over in his hands.

Sasori frowned, raising his arm and catching the boy's hands with chakra strings, forcing him to set down the puppet arm. "I'll ask you again, who is this boy and why did you bring him here?"

The boy turned his head, his eyes suddenly blood red and carrying a strange pattern within them. "Uchiha Itachi. A pleasure to meet you." He muttered, bowing slightly.

"Oh, yeah, sorry about that, where are my manners?" Deidara scratched the back of his head, looking around. "I miss this workshop, hmm. Why won't you let me work here too, Master Sasori?"

Kisame stepped forward, clearly not happy with being in the workshop, and brushed his hands over Itachi's, breaking the chakra strings that restrained the boy. "We're sorry to bother you, Sasori-san. We'll be going now." He grinned, sharp teeth glinting in the light as he took Itachi's arm. The boy didn't fight it, but kept staring at Sasori, frowning.

"Hey, this is pretty cool, yeah!" Deidara picked up a small puppet, turning it in his hands. "I didn't know you were also into dollmaking, Master Sasori!"

Sasori stepped over, yanking the puppet from Deidara's hands and examining it for damage. "That is not a toy. It's my new prototype for infiltration and assassination."

"It's a doll!"

Kisame leaned closer to Itachi's ear, tugging his arm. "Let's go, before they start arguing about if it's art or not."

Itachi nodded, and they left the two to their argument.
