In reply to dilated eyes post, My day off
I had the most wonderful day off today. The only thing that makes it slightly less, is dreading dealing with my boss tommorow. But anyway my great day.
I woke up to Jim asking me if I was going to work today. I evilly proceded to talk Jim into taking his very first vaction day. (He's been using comp time up until this point). I called my Aunt to make sure it was ok Jim came along and to find out where breakfast was.
After breakfast the three of us headed to the zoo. My aunt was going to buy tickets for us to get in ($9 a piece), but I tell her we should get a zoo membership. We tried to purchase one, but you can only do it inside the zoo. So the three of us 'scnook' in. I miss understood the zoo membership thing, I thought it was either 3 named individuals or 1 named individual and a guest. Its really either 2 named individuals or 1 and a guest. Anyway my aunt said she wanted to get me a zoo membership for xmas, and even better they were 20% off today. Well since we were already in the zoo, we stayed, all of us.
The zoo was fun, but there was only ONE concession stand (well technically two, but they were in the same building next to each other) open in the whole zoo. We ended up dying of thirst on the completely wrong end of the zoo, but it was fun. After exploring the zoo, we went over to the rainforest to get eggplant fries (which are very yummy). Jim came home and took the trash out, and even filled up three bags of roof tiles. We hung out some, and then Jim went off to play warcraft and I ended up taking a nap. Jim woke me up at 6:30, and I was like we need dinner so if offered to do whatever I wanted. This included taking me to chipolte and not complaining about the traffic ONCE on the way, or about the crazy parking lot, etc.
I think we both really needed today. It was a spontansous thing, I didn't even think of taking the day off till noon yesterday and Jim was going to work till 9 this morning. But it was so what we needed. It was a great day.
