schools, v-day, ani and houses!
things have been good recently. I got into all of the law schools i applied to, and scholarships from all but one. We have decided to stay in pittsburgh (sorry mike and lenny, no philly for now), because we both love it here and we're doing really well. So its between Duquesne with a full ride, or Pitt with 10,000 (not quite half of tuition). I went and asked for more money from Pitt and told them that without it I wouldn't be able to go there, and I also applied for need-based scholarships. I should know by the end of March. If I get more money, then I will be at Pitt...if not then I'll be at Duquesne. I'm just not willing to go that far into debt when I know that by the time I get out of law school I'll be ready to start a family, not a crazynotimeforfamily career. and if i have no debt, i will be able to take a lower-stress job.
V-Day was nice. Jeff brough home calla lillies (the flowers from our wedding!) and then that saturday took me out on the town: first stop was the south side soup festival (tons of different restaurants participate with lots of yummy soup for you to try..mmmm), then ice skating at PPG Place in downtown p-bgh, then dinner in station square and to see a folk band concert that night. wonderful!
Then this past weekend we got to see ani difranco - it was AWESOME! we didn't find out she was going to be here until thursday (the concert was sunday) and she was at a really small venue so of course it had sold out back in December. After many failed attempts to get them on craig's list, we took a shot in the dark and emailed the guy in charge of the box office for the venue, and at 5:30 that day he called us - with two tickets in the front row! I didn't realize how TINY she is - she is so short and small. I love her!
We've also started house shopping - AH! it still sounds weird that we are looking at buying a house. we've found some really cute ones around here so we'll see!
