Yup, I'm back. Well, I was actually back yesterday, but since I was travelling from 11pm to 10am the night before, it was pretty much a write-off. Heh, and almost the first thing I did when I got inside was switch on the heater - le sigh. ;)
Hope everyone's having a nice start to 2007. I got home to a processed Elfwood ticket (!) and some lovely mail and postcards, which let me pretend it was still Christmas for a bit ... thanks, you lot. ^_^
I also got a letter from UTAS confirming my travel scholarship. "Oh, yay," thinks I, "that means they've finally processed my postgrad student application."
I check. I remain unprocessed and in a non-studenty state. Email conversation runs something like this: "Hi, I sent you an application on November 1 and still haven't received a reply - could you send me formal confirmation of my postgraduate enrolment before this prejudices my Japanese visa application?"
Reply: "What visa application? We advise you not to apply for any visas or pay for any flights until you are contacted with news of a successful overseas transfer offer."
Me: "Your own department has already sent me confirmation of an overseas place. So has the overseas institution. It's in Japan, by the way, and you even granted me a study scholarship to go there, bless your hearts. How does someone unenrolled at your university receive grants and scholarships, hmm?"
No reply yet. But there's a heads-up for you, guys - apply to the University of Tasmania for free money, quick! ;D
I give up. I really do. I'm going to go read stuff now before my chuckles turn into insane gurgling. Though that would be pretty cool.
Happy Friday, ladies and gents!
