Retail therapy

I decided that after all I have gone through this month, a trip to the good LYS was definitely in order. I went wanting some Fleece Artist merino to make Convertible. And I got some in colourway Pinata. I was going to mix it with Blue Lagoon which I had bought in Victoria. However, upon getting home I decided that the colours really aren't me so I'm going to return it and pick out something different next time I'm in Victoria. Or see if something jumps out at me during my trip to Seattle.
But I did get something else at Urban Yarns, Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino in Spring Green to make the Simply Lovely Lace socks from IK. I was inspired by the gorgeous ones made by Danielle at Nonokittyknits. I am going to fiddle around with the sizing to make sure they fit perfectly. I will definitely aim to make them a little too small. Apparently this is a very stretchy pattern.
I've been surfing the knitting blogs lately and I fell in love with Wendy's ponchette at Knit and Tonic. It's from Kpixie and I had been thinking about maybe ordering it. I don't tend to spend money on patterns but this one called to me. I looked into the shipping cost and it would be $10 to ship to Canada. It's only a $5 pattern! But it's just $2 to ship to Seattle so guess who's getting a ponchette pattern?

So, all in all, today has been a good knitting day. Now I'm going to curl up on the couch with my Baby Cashmerino and a non-caffinated Mountain Dew, and knit in front of the tv.
