(no subject)
Today was Region Band tryouts. I almost fell apart this morning, I didn't want a repeat of Friday band. Soo, I ate a banana(it helps calm nerves) and headed out. Met up with Logan, a freshman bass clar buddy. I feel bad.. I told him he was there to make me look good, and such, and he ended up doing pretty well. :P
Our room was bass clar & alto clar. There were 3 altos, their audition took 20 minutes, it was basically a chair test, since all three made it. We stepped out of the room, while they played. I was letter B, which means, I went second in the first round. D'oh. Welllll, I did bad in the first round. Got nervous, weak and shakey halfway through the cut. Second round, did okay, third round, even better. They took 12 bass clarinets, out of about 23. I made 12th. =D Which means, I get a patch for district band. And guess what, Meredith didn't make it! Ahah. Our bass trombone player, who made 1st in state last year, got 2nd. Bet he's mad. French horn player got 3rd. Flute player, who made all-state last year, got 1st. We have some awesome players in our band. :)
