Super Junior and How Girls Become Obsessed

I know most of you follow my blog not because of this kind of post (and also the previous one) but I’d like to share something here. My hands have been aching to type this since long time ago. I’m so sorry if this is just a useless story that unnecessarily has to be shared. Skip this one if you know you’re not interested in reading it. I’ll make it up to you in the next posts.

Precautions : This post can cause you an acute boredom if you’re not into this topic (but a severe excitement if you’re into this). And this is going to be a long~ long~ post.

Precautions 2 : If you’re not interested in the topic but interested enough to see my point of view, I suggest you to read the ones in bold.

So, if you had decided to read my previous post, I’m sure you know what’s going on in my mind now.

whooah, must it be this fast to admit that I’m indeed a fan girl for a particular K-Pop group named Super Junior? Perhaps I was still embarrassed to admit that 6 or 7 months ago, but now? Hell no. I’m so head over heels in love with them (not that it’s surpassed my love to my God and my special people).

You know the feeling when you don’t know someone personally but you keep an eye over him? He doesn’t even know you exist but you can memorize clearly his daily schedule and performances?

So it started 7 months ago when I watched a Korean variety show known as ‘Intimate Note’ which aim is to make some people in a particular group become more intimate as public widely acknowledge them as ‘a little far considering they’ve been together for a long time’. Most of my classmates (all-female) were K-Pop fans, we watched it together via my friend’s laptop which was connected to the class’ infocus.

Rrrr, instead of having “Pretty guys!! Yeay!” as my first impression, I was wondering “what makes people like them so much that they’re willing to sacrifice many things just to buy their albums or to go to their concerts?”. As much as I was known as a ‘person who can’t be a little far from music player and headset’, I had never gone to a music concert or festival like Java Jazz. I realized that I didn’t have that much of money and I didn’t want to save up though my favorite musicians were present.

Back to the story.

So, I kept watching the show until there’s a part when they (those Suju members, all male, by the way) had to do cross-dressing. They’re all wearing girls’ dresses and had to act like girls. At first I thought “No one looks that good as a girl” until my brain barely functioned by the appearance of a man ( I knew he’s a man just because the show told us that he was) dressed in red-calves-revealing-Chinese-long dress. It’s just wow you know. I’m not exaggerating. Let me tell you this, initially when people said that there were men who looked exactly like a girl, I just shrugged it off, because it’s plain impossible, I mean, man’s features and woman’s are completely different that you can immediately tell whether she’s a man by looking at his face. But this man, sure made me think that my last statement was an understatement. He totally looked like a girl. An attractive one.

Okay, his arms are kinda off to be a girl’s.

I don’t know why, but I have always liked men with beautiful faces. And this man suddenly shook my chart of “10 Most Beautiful Men”. I immediately asked my friend who his name was then I knew that his name was “Kim Heechul”.

Okay, get out, I already warned you before that this post wouldn’t be that interesting if you’re not interested enough in the object of the post. Or if you already see me as an obsessed freak.

Then I started googling about him for God knows how frequent. I started to know that along with his current occupation in Super Junior as a singer and dancer, he’s also an MC for many big concerts, a radio DJ, a comedian, an actor, over all, he’s a total established entertainer.

I also took a look at many of his photos, his girlish photos, and also the manly ones.

the girlish ones :

or the manly ones :

or the kiddy-like one:

I swear I don’t know why I should post this story, but aaaaaaaa *fangirl’s giggle* I couldn’t find the reasons why not besides my followers would be decreasing. And that’s not really a big deal anyway.

I also started to follow Super Junior in variety shows, and I had to admit that they’re damn funny and were willing to embarrass themselves in front of public like a total entertainer would do. So I started liking them as a group too, not just a Heechul in their group.

From my observation, (I’m not even sure when I started to observe) there are many new groups which, perhaps, better in face (it’s not a good term I know), better in dancing and also singing, but this group has made a total discovery in Korea’s world of entertainment. They are the first idol group which couldn’t keep their image as ‘idols’ who supposedly be handsome, talented, and humble. Especially this special person named Kim Heechul.

This Kim Heechul knows that he’s good-looking and he doesn’t pretend like he doesn’t know and be humble all the time. Former idols would say “Ah, it’s not like that” or many other refusal statements when they’re told that they’re good-looking or so on. But this particular 4-dimensional-idol broke the record and said “I know” and even bragged about himself being good-looking in national shows. His witty responds to many things are also the reasons why he’s managed to gain many fans and jobs, despite being a sarcastic and a blunt person.

And so his group began to follow his steps. Not as dangerous as his case, but still, it’s close.

The Other Members

I first watched Exploring Human Body and laughed so hard I couldn’t even control my bladder. I learned that there’s a member named Yesung which was also weird that he’s probably a queer, in a fun way. He embarrassed himself all the time in this show by saying “I’ll give you an example” in every game, but always ended up failing. This Yesung has a killer voice (which I never expected because he’s kinda failed in anything). A kind of voice which will send shiver to your spine when you hear it. I recommend him to you right now, listen to his singing. Even Afgan (Indonesian singer) is his fan.

There’s also Leeteuk, the leader of the group, the most suffering one of all because he’s always the one who is responsible of what his members do, the one who has to clear up the messed-up things. He’s also an awesome MC and a fun person to watch because of his unusual behavior. He has a nice smile and beautiful eyes. A very good person, indeed.

Sungmin, despite his not-so-young age, has managed to be achieve a title “Aegyo King”. Aegyo is a term in Korean which means ‘doing something cute’.

Fangirls are crazy about this. His cute and lovely appearance also supports his title. He is also known as the most multi-talented member. He can do martial-arts, sing, dance, play guitar and piano, and even act witty. You’ll be so in love with this member if you’re into cuteness and able to endure guys’ comments that “ew, he is so gay”. No, he is not gay, probably not. Or maybe he's gay. But only with Kyuhyun.

Eunhyuk and Donghae, eventually look like twins. They’re always with each other in group’s activities. Donghae is a charmer, a good-looking man with a childish attitude. Eunhyuk, well, he looks a little like a monkey, for me an awesome monkey. They’ve got many parts together in Super Junior activities as they are the main dancers and rappers of the group beside Shindong and Hangeng. Many of their funny stories which were revealed to the public attracted the attention of the fans. Their relationship is totally adorable seeing that they always seem to fool around in many shows.
