I can eat again!!
I know it's been a long time since I wrote anything down here, about a month and a half, and some things have happened that I should have made note of -- like Peter Falk's death -- but I just haven't felt like doing it. But today I'm feeling good enough about something I have to make note of. I had my first pretzel dog in a very long time and it tasted so good. I'm really tempted to walk back and get one or two more...but I'll save that for another day.
I got my full dentures in a week or two ago and I'm still working to get used to them. I'm starting soft with things like tuna sandwiches and beans with plenty of bread torn up in it. (Turns out Bush's Baked Beans are really good. Never had them before.) Bread is soft but you do need teeth to chew it. I'm working my way up to bacon in my eggs again (next shopping run) and hot dogs and Chinese food. I'm thinking of ordering Chinese tomorrow; my usual order is a lot of shrimp dishes. I had a frozen Shrimp Bowl that has been sitting in the freezer for several months because I couldn't eat the shrimp before. With a bit of adhesive on the lower teeth I did real good, and it was delicious. I'm still not quite ready for pizza and chicken, but I bet I'll get there before next Saturday. I was looking hard at the Orange Chicken at Panda, but decided on the pretzel dog instead. I'm also thinking that I can do IHoP later tonight...eggs and sausage with a belgian waffle, mmmmm...
Oh, yeah. Today is Stephen's 30th birthday. Wonder if the little thug is even alive.
