A lot of money went out today, in cash, check, ATM, and bank card. I walked to the Sears machine and my back, hips, and belly hurt even before I crossed the parking lot. I made sure to have enough money for the doctor, Safeway, and three cab rides. For some reason the Safeway on 19th wouldn't take my card so I had to write a check. THEN they tell me they won't take a check over $100 because it's the first time I've been there. So I had to kill that one and write a second check. I think that was the last or next to last in my wallet. Luckily I had just enough left in my wallet for the $120 left on my grocery bill and cab fare home. I now have both freezers full enough to last for quite a while. Since I was cabbing it, I was able to get 2 gallons of milk, so that'll last a while. Now all I have to do is wait for a break in the weather and make a few trips to CVS and stock up on my water.
It's been raining something fierce lately and all reports say that's gonna last a while. Taking the bike in the rain is a real pain in the ass, so instead of hitting Coco's for Solstice tomorrow, I got some fancy foods at Safeway. A pack of mini crab cakes and a small tray of cocktail shrimp. So I'm gonna be fancy snacking all day for Solstice.
I saw a new doctor at the clinic today. Dr. Richard Fox. He took a look in my mouth and ear and found minor problems. He said I had a sore on my gum but since I have a dental appointment in about 2 week that can wait. I had him look into my crusty ear and he said it was clogged with earwax. He had a nurse come in and flush the one ear out with water and peroxide. It didn't really hurt, just the strong pulsing pressure, and the peroxide made it bubbly. I giggled through most of the procedure. I looked in the cup afterward and there was a lump of earwax in the bottom. Yuck. Do. Fox said no more Q-tips inside the canal, just around the outside. Mmmm, okay, I guess. It's not feeling as crusty right now.
Tomorrow is the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year. There's also gonna be a lunar eclipse tomorrow. They say the moon might turn a copper color. We probably won't see it though the clouds. Both on the same day. Special.
