Guess who has a new camera?

I'll give you three guesses.  Ok, yes it's me!

Firstly, here is my giant cat, soaking up all the sunlight Wales has to offer:

Then there is Debra, being a monster:

And also a pic of a homemade creme brulee, a team effort between Danielle and myself:

Now let's see, what else happened since my last post?  Had a marvellously sistery time when Manda and Danielle visited.  Much food was eaten with much gusto.  We went to Sheffield to see Debra performing the soprano part of some Mozart mass in Sheffield Cathedral on Easter Sunday.  The singing was wonderful but, due to serious lack of sleep the night before and my general disinterest in being involved in religion, the actual service was very hard for me to sit through.  It was very high-church CofE in style.  I even got flicked with holy water (and did NOT burst into flames!).  Mandy and Danielle seemed to enjoy all that, but I found it somewhere between tedious and peculiar.  If I were to do church I'd probably be fairly low-church.  And honestly, were I to do faith at all, I imagine I'd find it easier to get along in some form of paganism than Christianity.  It just makes more sense to me, in as much as any religion truly makes sense to my agnostic mind.
Anyhoo.  Sheffield is a pretty cool place.
I also turned 25.  Hard to believe, I know.

And I finally got to read Moon Over Soho by Ben Aaronovitch.  Words can't even begin to describe... I think I may be a serious fangirl.  I want the next book RIGHT NOW PLEASE!  Thomas 'Tiger Tank' Nightingale is now my favorite wizardly mentor figure (sorry, Dumbledore....).  And Ethically Challenged Magical Practitioner is now the approved PC term for 'black magician', just so you know ;)

It's the victorian extravaganza in town at the moment.  I'm sad because I don't have anybody to go with.  Also, I feel like fairground rides might just make me sick and headachey these days.  Bah!  Turning into an old fogey sucks!  Plus I have lots of crafty stuff I should be getting on with.  That's crafty as in the 'sewing and sticking' meaning, rather than the 'bwahahah my crafty plan' meaning.  Stuff like making decorative bunting for my new room in Cardiff.  I'm excited, my material is gorgeous!

geekery, art, photos, that damn cat
