I should definitely be sleeping right now. I have to be up at half 8 to call the doctors for my mum. But I'm feeling all wound up and anxious. Tried to kill it by drinking. It half worked. So I thought I'd do a brief update. I have loads of photos to share but I'm too lazy to upload.
Chester Folk Fest basically made my life. It was the most fun I've ever had in a tent and no, no sexytimes occurred. Leastways not in our tent. Apparently I like camping a lot more than I thought I would. The company was probably a big part of that though. And together we were crazy-prepared for anything the festival could throw at us. Except for drunken loud scouse women, but that's another story.
Anyway, as I'm thinking a lot about my move to Cardiff a lot at the moment, I thought I'd write a little and incomplete list of the things I will miss. You know, to persuade myself that I haven't totally wasted a year of my life.
1. Mum and Dad.
2. The cat.
3. The sea being just around the corner.
4. Quiet nights.
5. The gorgeous scenery on my way to work - seriously. Sea and mountains, fields, quaint little churches and graveyards, little obscure villages. North Wales can be pretty dreamy sometimes.
6. My few remaining friends up here. S and K spring to mind in particular. Without S I wouldn't have lasted this year. And the gigs that K puts on have been fantastic every time. I kind of want to steal her, bring her to Cardiff with me and transport her gig making skills to the big city. But the setting is so unique that it really wouldn't be the same. I think I might have to make the effort to come back up north to go to some of the gigs from time to time.
6. Free food and not paying bills or rent.
7. Sky+ HD. I need to look into a way of recording things on freeview. Or just... shmisheegally shmounshmoading... *shifty eyes* everything I like to watch.
8. River Island. Yeah, I've not worked there long and haven't really made any super close friends or anything, but it's pretty much an ok place to work. I must look into working in the Cardiff branch after moving.
