Still having a good time with my unemployment. Sorry, I'm not unemployed, I'm a Lady who Lunches. In her pyjamas. While watching Jeremy Kyle. I don't care what anybody says, it's a triumph of TV. It's one of the few 'messy lives' type shows (think Jerry Springer if you're not familiar). So rare because I'm 90% sure JK is way more messed up than the junkies of fatherhood-denying junkie-thieves he yells at for a living. Good times!
In other good times news I'm still getting over spending a weekend visiting Cardiff. It overloaded my joy circuits in so many ways! I hope to remember it always. I think I'll have to do list form to make it coherent:
1. Getting up at 4.30 am and walking to the train station from Sophie's house felt like a magical adventure. It was the combination of knowing that Cheese Fest was actually happening, walking in the quiet and the dark in the autumny air, topped off with the full moon. Yum :)
2. CHEESE. FEST. Wonderful cheese fest. We did a bunch of classes which were all fun. Best of British was the best - we learned to do full-on pretentious cheese tasting. I also had a venison burger for lunch, poffetjes (er. little dutch pancakes that I cannot spell) for a snack. Bought 4 cheeses including the coveted GINGER CHEESE, a blue sheep's cheese that's similar to cashel blue, a farmhouse goat's cheese and a soft honey flavoured goat's cheese.
3. Saw Aidan Turner (Mitchell from Being Human) coming out of the little M&S in the train station. Kelda and I shared a beautiful fangirl moment while staring at his retreating back, freaking out. He's even sexier in real life, if that's even possible.
4. Beth let me have a nap at her house then we went out and had booze times.
5. Met up with Cat and Gareth from sci-fi and had lunch and catch up.
6. Owen made a fantastic dinner of salmon with blue cheese sauce, which was very yummy.
7. Had a weird experience while out for cocktails later when the bottom of Bethan's glass fell out, drenching her in icy-cold pink stuff. Not necessarily a great moment but it was very, very odd and therefore requires mentioning.
This weekend has been a lot less exciting.
Next week I'll be doing a retail course. It WILL lead to a job or I will be quite cross.
