So, I just saw the Doctor Who Season Eight premiere, "Deep Breath".

This was a pretty special episode, really, considering that before it aired, we had a bit of a pre-showing with Chris Hardwicke (who I can't say I was very familiar with; it wasn't until later I realized, "Wait, I saw this guy in Rob Zombie's Halloween II!" Yes, I watched that movie; don't judge me. XD), who gave us some background on the previous ( Read more... )

*Smishes back* It's good to see you. And it's okay. :)

And thanks! And yeah, I've been doing well -- I went to London this summer, which was a lot of fun, and so far, school's been going great. How are you? :)

It really was! And I definitely hope you get the chance next year; London's a beautiful place.

And that's definitely good that things are settling down a bit.

I didn't see any of the pre-show. I watched the episode online when it premiered in Britain. Then, my power went out for several hours so the American premiere was about half over when it came on again. I really enjoyed his show afterwards with Alton Brown. However, I do wish for a show with Craig Ferguson and Peter Capaldi. BBCA used to be very friendly towards Ferguson but once Hardwicke entered the picture, it's like Ferguson doesn't even exist anymore...such a shame, I caught an episode of his with Billie Piper earlier this year and it was awesome...but I suppose BBCA might have agreed with Piper that you can't talk about a current Doctor doing illegal drugs in their youth ( ... )

Hey! *Hugs*

I actually didn't see the show afterwards with Alton Brown, mostly because I was so tired. And Craig Ferguson used to host it? That's really interesting; I confess I didn't know that. I should really see some of his old stuff.

I haven't really seen The Thick of It, I will admit. I should really do that. I hear it's a very good show.

And yeah, I know what you mean. Children of Earth is wonderful, but it's really very sad. *Hasn't really seen Miracle Day either. Possibly a good thing?*

And yeah, true.

And yeah, this. Seriously. And that was a pretty sad line, it really was.

It wasn't the same format. It was his own show but with Matt Smith, Karen Gillan, Alex Kingston and others showing up for the show. Sometimes, he'd do special stuff like this opening which wasn't okayed by legal in time for the actual show with Matt Smith so he had to wait until Alex Kingston's episode to show it:

I didn't see The Thick of It until after I saw In the Loop which I mainly saw because of Tom Hollander and then it was like...this stuff is hilarious, I want more! It's like a cross between The West Wing and Parks & Rec with more coarse language.

Miracle Day did have its good moments, like with Anwen, but...yeah, the bad moments outnumber them especially the ending. It still pisses me off thinking about it.

But the T-Rex died! I was so pissed and sad and the Doctor felt the same because he was going to take her back ( ... )

Yeah, that was a sad scene. I hated that the T-Rex died.

And yeah, I really liked that as well. Just sort of tying the two episodes together.

There's a book out? I should really go and buy that! And I agree -- I know the scene where Vastra kisses Jenny to sort of help her breathe was one of my favorite Vastra/Jenny moments. I really like their relationship -- they're just...wonderful.

And there's a new Robin Hood out? That's really awesome.
